Fantastic experience: Gary was a great instructor!

Positive experience: Maybe this place is amazing for learning to ride motorcycles but my son took the course for preparing for his car road test and it was just ok. The main concern was that the last in-car session was supposed to be a simulated driving test in the area of the registry and that didn't happen so I had to spend 3 days with my son learning the area to prepare for the test. Also the in-class pre-recorded videos weren't the best quality. We won't be using this place for our second child.

Fantastic experience: Extremely thankful to Coach Garry Mcconnell and his many teachings to me as a driver. I was registered for the Basic Driver Training Course and was taught vital skills needed as a driver through the 10 hours of lessons that were provided. Through his ways of conditioning and teaching a student, it prepares them to be not only ready for the test, but also to be prepared for many different driving scenarios. I was able to pass my test on my first attempt thanks to these lessons.

Fantastic experience: I had Garry as my instructor for my Class 5 Drivers Education course. With his years of experience paired with his communication skills, he was excellent at providing informative insight, tips, and tricks. He was stern when necessary, but all in the name of learning. Given his past as a road test examiner in Alberta, he was able to depict what exactly examiners look for when examining a road test taker. Alongside this, even after our 10 paid in-vehicle class hours, he insisted on a multitude of occasions that I text or call him with any driving inquiry I may have had. Approaching the day of my road test, I took Garry up on his offer and he was delighted to help, free of charge. This even included paragraphical texts explaining different driving concept and procedures, as well as a phone call (despite his busy schedule) for any last-minute questions I had. On top of that, he refused profusely to accept any sort of cash tip or gift. I ended up passing my road test, and he was ecstatic upon finding out. Most driving schools charge upwards of 1000$ for an online-in-vehicle course package. I feel as if Wheels Training Centre is the only driving school that deserves to charge that much, yet they only charge 672$. I strongly recommend.

Fantastic experience: A HUGE thank you to Gary and Rich for teaching an amazing basic motorcycle course. I went in with absolutely zero riding experience and their knowledge helped me feel so comfortable on a bike. Over the two day course, I learned a ton and had so much fun while doing it. I will definitely be back to try out some other courses to fine tune my motorcycle skills. I would highly recommend Wheels Training Centre to absolutely everybody. Thank you guys so much!!

Fantastic experience: What a great experience. Both instructions were kind, patient and fun. They had so many different types of bikes to try which helped me become confident on many bikes. I would totally recommend this course to anyone.

Negative experience: The school confirmed in-car lessons availability for next month. After payment, they refused to book lessons until I completed the theoretical course, making the confirmed date impossible. Requested full refund; they charged $55 admin fee. The owner called me "ridiculous" on the phone. Poor communication and customer service.

Fantastic experience: Really amazing course for beginners, the instructors are very patient and have plenty of experience themselves! Before the course I had never even been on a bike before, but on the final day we were all riding as a group around the area.

Fantastic experience: I just finished Wheels Training Center Inc.'s basic motorcycle training course. The instructors Gary and Steve were both extremely knowledgeable. They provided a variety of bikes to ride and ensured everyone was comfortable using a each one. I learned all the fundamental skills needed to ride and look forward to riding my own bike. I have confidence in my ability and most of all feel like I am a step closer to taking my class 6 road test.

I finished the course feeling more confident on a bike than I could have imagined, and I couldn't recommend this school enough. Took my road test yesterday, one week after the course, and passed on my first try. Thank you Garry and Günther!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended! I went from being very nervous about riding coming from only 1 day of prior riding experience with a friend, to feeling very comfortable and passing my road test only 4 days after finishing the safety course - and passed confidently. Gary was a very experienced and engaging instructor, very well balanced with Gunther who also had great experience tips and technical advice throughout. Everything was very smooth, good communication, accommodating, and not intimidating at all. They made learning how to ride a totally fun experience and I'm glad I chose them. Small steps that built to ingrained skills. Gary also took the time to answer questions before we got to the course so feel free to ask him about any bikes or gear you are thinking about before the course.

Fantastic experience: How highly recommend! Took motorcycle safety course over two days and went from not knowing how to turn one on to buying a victory highball the week after and riding it with confidence (after the first 3 seconds anyway, getting out the gate was a mind thing after all the advice not to buy something so powerful). The instructors were thorough, very good with all of us including the four women taking the course, very safety focused and great at building our confidence. You won’t regret it.

Fantastic experience: I was the basic non-rider Mom of my family of enduro type riders and we took the course together as a family. We had a wonderful experience. Each of us learned new skills and insights. I highly recommend taking training through Wheels. I overcame fears and am looking at buying my first bike at age 57.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy I chose Wheels Training Centre and feel very lucky that Garry was my driving instructor for my 10 hour course. I have always had driving anxiety but Garry took me back to the basics and patiently taught me everything from how the vehicles operate to driving on the highway. He was extremely patient and thorough with the way he teaches. Most importantly, he is the most caring and passionate instructor you’ll ever come across. He genuinely cares about driver safety (not just yours, but also everybody else’s) and prioritizes we learn how to drive safely and properly. I’ve taken Driver’s Ed before but my previous instructor definitely did not care as much nor cover as much lessons as Garry. I feel this course was absolutely worth the investment and I am hoping to take the Winter Driving course once the snow is back. Thank you Garry for everything you’ve taught me!

Fantastic experience: I hadn't been on a motorcycle for 35 years and wanted to take a safety course and get back into riding after purchasing a bike; I wanted a course that really emphasized safety and Garry and Jason absolutely delivered. Our class had people that had never even driven a car, let alone ridden a motorcycle, and some riders with more experience, but Garry and Jason made sure that everything they taught us was relevant and important for all of us, new and experienced riders alike. I came away from the course with a much deeper understanding of motorcycle riding safety concepts and riding techniques and feel much more confident in the saddle and very well prepared for my upcoming road test. I took the 2-day weekend basic motorcycle safety course and highly recommend Garry and his team at Wheels. I will likely also book a spot on their advanced road course some time this summer as well. 5 stars all the way!!!!

Negative experience: I would never trust a company that abandons a vehicle in the middle of a turning lane, especially without turning on the four-way lights, or any lights at all.

Fantastic experience: As someone who extensively researched driving schools, I was thrilled to discover Wheels Training Centre (WTC). From the moment I met Garry and stepped in the vehicle, the professionalism, emphasis on safety, and dedication to educate were evident. My driving coach, Garry, deserves special commendation for his expertise and patience. He not only taught me the necessary skills but also instilled in me good driving habits that will last a lifetime. Garry, thank you for the trust and making driving fun to learn. I wholeheartedly recommend WTC to anyone seeking a top-notch driving school experience. Fantastic experience: I am a student driver and I drove with the owner Garry. This is an amazing program and following it will lead to success, I did 10 total hours of driving and I have had no complaints, if i made a mistake Garry would inform me of it, tell me what I did wrong and how I should improve/show how it affects other drivers. 10/10 program I would recommend this to anyone. I am now confident in driving.

Fantastic experience: I was always put off with driving, I had never felt comfortable behind the wheel - I went to driving school after driving school, instructor after instructor, with no luck; I failed the road test multiple times. Garry, however, took me back to the basics and even took me under the hood of the vehicle, familiarizing me (an automobile illiterate) with the operational systems and basic vehicle maintenance. With his coaching and persistent support, I got my license, but more importantly - I feel ready and able to drive anywhere safely in all conditions. I would recommend Wheels to everyone - regardless of expertise level. Thanks again Garry!!

Fantastic experience: I took the 2-day weekend Basic Motorcycle Training Course. It is a good format to quickly get up-to-speed on basics and some more advanced skills with the help of experienced instructors, and to get you ready for the Class 6 Road Test. Marla and Gary, the owners, were also quite friendly and helpful before, during, and after the training. A great experience throughout!

Fantastic experience: I had never ridden a motorcycle before and wanted to learn. The owner, Gary, and the other instructor, Jason, were excellent. They made me feel comfortable and increased my confidence with their patience, expertise, and knowledge. They provided helpful feedback throughout. Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with Wheels Training Centre driver's education. I took the road only course, designed for people with their class 5 who need to refresh their skills. Prior to the course, I was comfortable enough driving in towns and small cities, but not comfortable driving in Calgary. I used this course as a sort of headstart to get me comfortable driving in the city. The price point of driver's education from Wheels Training is also on the lower end of the price range when compared to all the other driving schools in Calgary. What I didn't know is that the standard 3-4+ driving courses offered at the different driving schools in Alberta are all the exact same standard curriculums. My instructor was Garry, the owner of Wheels. He is a great driving instructor, clearly has years of experience, and I he also used to be a road test examiner. Garry also provided clear, easy to understand instructions and was enjoyable to do lessons with. Being in a vehicle with someone for 2 hours if you're a new or nervous driver isn't always the most fun experience, but Garry did a great job of making me feel at ease and made the lessons helpful and informative. I took the new driver's education from AMA when I was 20 or so, and I can't say the two instructors I had lessons with were as enjoyable to work with in comparison to Garry. (The AMA instructors were fine, but I left some lessons overwhelmed and frustrated.) The lessons, at least with Garry, were available 7 days a week and at a wide range of morning, afternoon and evening hours. They also pick you up at your home and they let me change a lesson date with enough notice. The vehicle I used to practice on was a compact SUV. Driving something different than a car was something I wanted, so that was great as well. I would 100% recommend Garry and his team at Wheels Training Centre for their quality drivers education and excellent price point. I am also happy with my level of improvement in driving with confidence and capability! Thanks folks! See you safely on the road.

Fantastic experience: So glad I did my basic motorcycle course with Wheels! Gary (owner and instructor) is an established rider, with a wealth of experience under his belt. He's been riding for over 3 decades and will share numerous tales of real-life bike experience. He teaches you the basic safety of being out on the road and how to protect yourself and other riders. He is very respectful of everyone who comes to the course. He has experience as a examiner for the registry as well so he is aware of how to help you be test ready. The course is incredibly valuable, and I came having never ridden a bike before, to being so comfortable with a few different bike options and training excercises. He puts a primary on safety and respect and Wheels is an excellent choice if you want to learn how to ride safely and correctly!

Fantastic experience: Took the weekend basic motorcycle course and it was fantastic! I have only been on a motorcycle a few times and wanted to get my class 6. Garry and Gunther did an amazing job training and had some excellent tips for the beginner. Being able to try out a variety of motorcycles during the course was a bonus and really helped me figure out which type would be best for me. I was able to take a class 6 road test a week later and the training paid off as I was able to pass on the first try!

Negative experience: If you have never risen a bike or need instruction on the absolute basic operation of a bike, the basic course is for you. If you can ride a bike, shift gears, brake, turn, (ride a dirt bike) this is not the course for you. It will NOT prepare you completely for a class 6 road test unlike other driver training programs. Time spent on a bike riding around with a mentor will gain more skills, knowledge and experience than this course will.

Fantastic experience: I really want to ride with my dad as my dad is getting older and after contracting a few schools, Garry called me and convinced me that Wheels Training Centre was the school for me. He wasn't wrong, I enjoyed both days, the class is somewhat intensive as in you get a lot of riding in. The staff is great and willing to help quickly. I got enough experience and confidence to take out my VTR1000F for the first time and I did, around 200kms in a day. I was comfortable that I could do it and I had fun. I think anyone who wants to start riding in the street should take a class, and if you ask me, Wheels Training Centre would be my choice again.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. The course is run by a couple of older, very experienced riders who are well trained and know what they are talking about. They have a wide variety of bikes for people to use so you can a good sense of what style bike you enjoy. They also cover a lot of what is on a road test. They are very easy to talk to and love to answer all the questions you have. I would recommend my friends and family here.

Fantastic experience: Course: Basic Motorcycle Safety Course Crucial course taught by people who have a combined riding experience almost quadruple than how long I am presently alive. Able to coach professionally and in a personal manner despite being in a group setting. Experiences and stories, both the good and the bad, behind all the skills and portions of the course they teach. The instructors are able to inspire confidence with ease. I recommend taking the weeknight course which is split into three sections. Being able to sleep on the skills and lessons made a big difference in being able to participate in the final group ride. Take the course, you won’t regret it.

Fantastic experience: Great instructors, great experience. I did the basic safety course option, and you get you on the bike right away, which was nice because I was expecting an in class portion. My one recommendation would be to pace yourself as it's quite physically and mentally draining, so pace yourself during the day and the course of the weekend.

Fantastic experience: Rode my first motorcycle here and was able to drive it safely on Calgary roads the next day. Gary and Gunther are well qualified and the perfect trainers to teach you about safety and ultimately that road test to ensure you pass without issue!

Positive experience: Even though i was a little nervous on Day one they made me feel comfortable. When Garry and/or Toss noticed I was struggling because they care the pulled me out of the exercise so I could practice. Garry cares for his students and seems like he could be a rough instructor that's because he wants all of his students to succeed and besafe.

Fantastic experience: I competed the Basic Motorcycle Training course on the weekend and had the time of my life! Allan and Tim were a great team of instructors. They quickly broke the ice and got us on the bikes very quickly. They gave us a good overview of the bikes‘ systems, spotlighting the importance of careful maintenance to ensure safety. I found it really helpful to be able to swap bikes with other riders to gain confidence and experience. Once we were all comfortable with the basics (starting on a hill, emergency stopping, cornering, etc.) we had a blast riding around as a group. My favourite part by far was touring around on the streets, gaining experience and confidence. I am so thankful to Tim and Allen for their careful instruction, attention to detail, and humour! I highly recommend this course to anyone who would like to gain experience and confidence in preparation for their road test.

Fantastic experience: I just spent two days with three amazing instructors and 8 fabulous women doing the WOMENS ONLY Basic motorcycle course. Many of us went from never riding a bike or only being tail fluff to riding as a pose of awesome biker chicks on the ROAD. Not only were the instructors knowledgeable but they were approachable and willing to answer ANY question and calm any nerve. The course was full with information with tons of time to practise skills, talk through scenarios and laugh at the hilarious "biker vocabulary." I would recommend this course to any woman pondering taking up motorcycle riding. You will leave feeling confident and with some strong connections to the women that went on this journey with you. Fantastic experience: I took my class 5 driving lessons with Wheels. I'm wayyy more confident in my driving now, and I feel much safer! Garry is a fantastic teacher, very friendly and also very professional. I could tell that they really do care about your safety as a driver and ensuring you are all set for your road test, while also making you more comfortable driving on the road in general. Plus they're not after your money like some other driving schools. I really recommend them to anyone looking for a driving school, my experience with them was great.

We were given lots of time on the motorcycles and they provided a broad range of skill development. It was also nice that they had multiples types of motorcycles to try your skills on. Fantastic experience: My husband bought me this course, and I have never ever ridden a bike and had no clue about anything! They train you on everything from starting the bike to the end! I was extremely nervous and not confident at all and definitely didn't believe i could operate a motorcycle in 3 short evenings, but I did they also teach you life saving skills and nag about them too lol Gary and Stephen are both so amazing but heads up, Gary(owner, bad cop) Stephen (instructor, good cop) but Gary just wants you to truly understand everything involved and most of all your safety! Thats why he's a bit strict but he's a softy inside and I couldn't have learned from better gems like these 2! Im confident to get on the road and will be back for an advanced course with these 2 again! Highly recommend them

Fantastic experience: The instructor was clear and patient. they had a variety of different motorcycles for us to try and the instructor made sure that we were comfortable with all the exercises before we moved on. Towards the end of the course he asked us if there was anything we felt we needed to work on. He also made sure to tell us when we were doing a good job. I learned a lot and I would absolutely tell people to take the basic course before trying to ride on the road.

Fantastic experience: I took the basic motorcycle training course this week and loved it! I got to ride 4 different styles of bikes - all in excellent condition and there were so many more I could have tried. Gunther was really lovely and knowledgable and very eager to answer any questions I, or any of the other students, had. I gained so much confidence in just 2 days. Fantastic experience: I completed my Class 6 Motorcycle course through Wheels Training Centre a few weeks ago, and I am very proud to say that I am now a fully licensed, Class 6 motorcyclist! Garry and Steve were both fantastic instructors, and were very clear and professional in their instructions. The selection of bikes offered in the course is great, and you have the opportunity to swap out to another bike in your second or third day of the course, to switch things up. Looking forward to finally getting out on the open highway! Thanks Wheels Training, I would DEFINITELY recommend your class 5 and 6 courses to friends and family!

Fantastic experience: Can’t say enough about my experience with Wheels Training Centre. Keep in mind I never give reviews (good or bad). This time I’ll make an exception. I was a little apprehensive booking a basic motorcyle training course, what in the world did I get myself into sort of thing. That thought disappeared from the moment the class started. Instead I had a blast. Lots of learning and lots of fun. I highly recommend “Wheels” for anyone and everyone looking to get into motorcycles or even those in it now. Great value for the money and did I mention Fun! Ps. I got to learn/drive 4 different bikes during the course. Happy Trails all!

Fantastic experience: Thank you to Wheels Training Centre. Great two days riding course! I found the training to be excellent. Great selection of bikes to ride and practice on, good to be able to ride different styles all of which were in great working condition. The instruction was clear and concise with a strong emphasis on safety, industry knowledge, motorcycle knowledge and the skills and tips to successfully challenge both the Alberta knowledge test and road test. I highly recommended this company and courses to all new and seasonal riders

Positive experience: This is a great introduction for the person who has no motorcycle driving experience. It is a very hands-on orientation with lots of time for practice drills. The instructors were terrific, taking the time to answer our questions fully, explaining each aspect of the skill they were teaching, and demo-ing each move for us. I now feel more than ready to tackle the road!

Fantastic experience: Great course! I took the Women's only weekend course. The trainers were great, made it fun but very focused on safety, which is important. Their goal is to train you the right way. I got to try many different styles of bikes, which was great. By the end of the weekend I felt totally confident to take my road test and hit the streets!
