Positive experience: Pros: My overall experience with learning driving and trainer was okay. - Because I've never driven before, now I feel more confident and comfortable with driving on the road. - I have learned a lot, for sure! Cons: The instructor keeps engaging with conversations rather than you focus on learning, I got distracted mostly. Additionally, one of my driving class didn't went smoothly as the instructor got pretty upset on a road sign question I asked him, he end up yelling on me which was even more discouraging for a new driver!

Fantastic experience: My daughter did the driver training and passed her driving exam the first try. The examiner said he was really impressed and she did really well! That was because of this great driving school. Really prepared her for her exam.

Fantastic experience: Soccer has Messi, Basketball has LeBron, Football has Tom Brady and driving school has Shakil. This man is the GOAT of driving instructors. Firm, but fair. Doesn't make you feel bad for making mistakes, but makes sure you understand and learn from them. I passed my test on the first try with only 5 pts deducted. The examiner turned to me and said that he simply had nothing to teach me, because it was one of the best driving exams he had ever had. 5 stars is not enough, Shakil deserves 6.

Fantastic experience: Very professional, Instructor Shakeel is very good at horning your skills, he exactly understands your requirements and plans accordingly. I recently relocated to Canada and was looking to clearing Class 5 road test, I took a course with South Drivers School consisting of online and behind the wheel and I was able to get through the road test in single attempt.

Fantastic experience: Passed on my first try after completing the Platinum Program (15hr online course, 10hrs behind the wheel) with Shakil. I was very nervous in the beginning with less than 5hours driving experience before starting. With his calm demeanour, great pointers, tips and practice, I quickly before more confident. Once again, thank you Shakil!

Negative experience: My twin teens took lessons from Shakil and he must have been going through some personal problems as he routinely would take phone calls while in the lessons and yell at the person on the other end of the phone, then get worked up and frustrated and be impatient with my teens. He would be distracted, arguing on the phone and not be instructing the teen on where to go and then get angry that the teen didn’t know he wanted them to turn. He occasionally had them pull over and would loudly argue on the phone with someone which was very stressful to the young driver. It knocked their confidence in driving so much that the one teen has barely driven since (this was almost 2 years ago) and it took the other teen until now to feel confident enough to do their test. I am of the opinion that he should not be taking phone calls at all during lessons, and definitely not arguing and yelling in the car while being paid to teach new drivers. It was a huge waste of our money and damaging to the teens confidence. Edited to add reply to your reply: It was Shakil Ahmed, the owner, and it was in Sept/Oct 2021. You also taught my older daughter in 2019 while you were working for another company (Nelson was the owner there) and you were great with her then which is why we went with you for our twins, but you were clearly having some personal problems as you yelled at someone on the phone many times separately with each teen. It scared the girl and stressed both of the teens out. You should NOT be taking phone calls while teaching lessons, very unprofessional and my one teen will not even drive because of the stress you caused her.

Fantastic experience: This driving school is great. The instructor Shakil is amazing and helped me feel much more confident about driving. Only a few weeks after I took his course and I passed my road test on the first try. I definitely recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: We are very happy that we chose South Drivers School for our teenager. She has never driven before but after 14 hours of practice with Shakil she learned everything needed and gained the confidence to pass the test from the first try within a month from the first lesson! Apart from the very good instructions and professionalism we are also thankful to Shakil for accommodating our family busy schedule during that time. We highly recommend this driving school and Shakil to everyone interested to learn how to drive and get the driver’s license on first try.

Fantastic experience: I didn’t have any driving experience prior to my lessons since no one wanted to teach me or drive with me outside of my lessons, so I tend to get very nervous everytime. Shakil was very patient with teaching me and helped me gain confidence in my driving. He gave me lots of tips and tricks on handling the car and also gave me advices so I could handle my nerves well when driving. He helped me so much that I was able to pass my road test first try, no problem!

Fantastic experience: Our daughter did NOT want to learn to drive because she gets so nervous and didn't think she was capable of learning. Shakil was very patient and paced the lessons according to my child's comfort level. We did get additional lessons after the first set because she felt that she wanted more. She passed her test the first time and even though she still prefers to take the bus, she has driven by herself to destinations that the bus can't get her to. Driving is an important life skill and thanks to South Drivers School, our young adult can proudly do it. Our teenaged son also took lessons from South Drivers. He was already fairly confident after a year of lessons with me. I was sure that I didn't know ALL the rules anymore so enrolled him just to be sure. I was right, he did learn some important things from Shakil. He also passed on the first attempt and LOVES driving himself and his younger sister to their activities - giving their dad and me nights off from chaufferring.

Fantastic experience: Shakil is a good instructor. He's clearly knowledgeable in how to drive and the skills for moves that you don't even need for the driver's test. It's clear that he knows how to teach people, with patience and letting you make mistakes while NOT CRASHING YOUR CAR. HE also gives you reference points for all traffic rules which help you keep track of when and how often to do certain things. Overall I'd say it's a pretty good deal.
