Fantastic experience: I recently completed my G test and had a great experience with both my driving instructor and the test itself. My instructor was patient, thorough, and gave me valuable feedback that helped me improve my skills. From the start, he tailored lessons to address my weak spots, whether it checking my blind spots and merging onto highways. He also emphasized defensive driving, which boosted my confidence.

Negative experience: Astonished that the driving instructors for this school do not practice safe driving habits! Was on the road today around noon exiting the 401 at Kennedy and a Kingston Driving Academy vehicle was driving in front of us. Know for sure it wasn't a student because the driver was the only person in the car. Silver Toyota driving school plate 5967. They did two offramp changes to the right without using a turn signal. The driver was then in the right turn lane and we were in the middle right turn lane (so both of us in lanes side by side turning to go southbound), we both turn but the driver does not stay in his turn lane and comes into our lane, almost side-swiping our car. Luckily I paid attention and was able to get out of the way but the actions of this driver were unsafe, dangerous, and almost caused an accident due to bad habits. Older gentlemen with glasses was behind the wheel. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. IF THE INSTRUCTORS THEMSELVES CANNOT DRIVE SAFELY HOW CAN THEY TEACH OTHERS TO?

Fantastic experience: Karen was extremely patient and understanding with me. As a new driver I was very nervous and scared of the road, she helped me gain confidence and as well to learn the rules and how to handle the car properly when driving and parking. I would highly recommend this driving school.

Negative experience: Hello, I am writing this review to warn prospective student drivers about my experience with this driving school. This is where I took my driving lessons, and unfortunately, I had a negative experience with their services. I was told that my payment would include a certificate upon completion. As someone who prefers to pay upfront and dislikes being in debt, I paid the full amount for both classroom and driving lessons. However, upon finishing my classes, when I asked my instructor, Kanta Pardel, for my certificate during the final lesson, she adamantly refused to provide it. Despite spending a few minutes in her car seeking information on when or if I would receive my certificate, she not only withheld the information but also asked me to leave. Now, considering the high costs of car insurance without a driving school certificate, I feel compelled to address this issue legally. My intention is to ensure that those who engage in dishonest practices are held accountable and prevent them from deceiving others.

Negative experience: Karen displays a lack of concern for her students, treating them poorly and making them feel like they are of little value. During my interactions with her, she treated me disrespectfully and constantly pressured me, attempting to coerce me into completing lessons with her. She consistently pushed for additional classes, and the price she initially quoted over the phone differed significantly from the amount she mentioned just two hours before my exam — it had doubled. When I expressed my inability to provide the additional funds, she engaged in argumentative behavior with both me and my brother. Furthermore, she issued threats, asserting that she possessed my license number and date of birth, implying that she could misuse this information to cancel my exam, creating a sense of vulnerability. Every communication from her seemed focused on persuading me to stay. Despite my refusal, she became increasingly aggressive, resorting to name-calling and demeaning language. This behavior can be accurately described as bullying. For those seeking driving instruction, I strongly advise against choosing Karen as an instructor, as she is not effective and tends to undermine her students.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Kingston Driving Academy. Karen makes sure you are confident behind the wheel before your test and you're almost guaranteed to pass on the first try.

Negative experience: Karen does not care for her students and is super inconsistent. When I first started lessons here in May (it is now mid October), Karen was consistent picking me up for lessons and arranging lessons a couple days apart from eachother. As time went on, I ended up waiting weeks for responses and lessons. It got to the point where I was waiting 2 months at a time to even here back from her. She would ignore texts and calls. As if I didn't pay money, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. she started double booking clients and then calling me and cancelling. Sometimes she wouldn't even answer on our scheduled lessons days. I told her from the beginning my goal of lessons was to get my g2 ASAP. she didn't care. In fact, she called me stubborn for asking for lessons. Isn't she a driving instructor? When I finally decided I was done being treated like garbage, I informed her I no longer wished to receive lessons and she harassed me with suddenly having dates available for lessons. She told me I'm rushing for no reason and have until April 2024 to do my remaining 4 lessons. Didn't I tell her when I started that I wanted to get my g2 ASAP. She treated me like garbage and constantly harnessed me, trying to force me into finishing lessons with her. Every message from her was asking me to stay. I stood my ground saying no and that's when she became nasty, started calling me names and talking down on me. I like to call this bullying. If you want to learn to drive. Karen is NOT A GOOD INSTRUCTOR and will belittle you.

Negative experience: Please read this Before booking a driving lesson with Karen or you will dump your money and time. My experience with Karen was nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my unfortunate encounter. From her tardiness to her offensive behavior, it was a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience. I took 2 sessions with her. Despite providing a time range for her arrival, she consistently arrived late in both, often beyond the given timeframe. This lack of punctuality was already a red flag. Moreover, I had explicitly mentioned to her at the beginning that I experienced driving anxiety. However, instead of providing support and reassurance, she chose to scold me for every action I took during the sessions. Her constant criticism only heightened my anxiety and made me even more startled behind the wheel. It was evident that she lacked empathy and understanding.. She displayed a dangerous disregard for safety by forcefully grabbing the steering wheel while I was driving. In second class she arrived a full 10 minutes late. This initial delay was frustrating and gave me a negative impression of her professionalism. However, when I refused to take the class as I had other commitments, matters quickly went from bad to worse when she finally arrived came to my home, she began ringing the bell incessantly and banging on the door. It was as if she wanted to make a spectacle of herself and demonstrate a complete disregard for basic manners. To make matters even more distressing, she shamelessly started using offensive language in a loud and aggressive manner. Her behavior was completely uncalled for and highly unprofessional. I was shocked and taken aback by her choice of words and her utter lack of respect for me as a client. I strongly advise anyone considering this particular driving school or this specific instructor to reconsider their options. I hope my review serves as a warning to others and encourages the driving school to address the behavior of this instructor.

Ms. Karen is such a patient, kind and respectful driving instructor, she makes sure she does everything she needs to, to ensure you pass! When I first started with Kingston driving academy a couple of months ago, I had NO CONFIDENCE behind the wheel, now I can say I have more than 100% confidence with how much I have learned from Ms. Karen. Negative experience: Unfortunately, I took classes from Karen’s husband. There was already a person learning when I entered the car and instructor was showing him some pictures on phone while he was driving, he seemed to be a first time driver , probably 18 years old. On my objection that the learner should focus only on driving, instructor did reply to me rudely that he know what he was doing ( showing him phone constantly when learner was driving). Otherwise also instructor didn’t tell me about lot of important rules which I learned later.

Fantastic experience: Karen is my instructor. I did 8 in car lessons, then another hour the day of my exam and I passed!!! I had failed my g2 previously I felt If i tried again on my own i would have failed for sure. She is really good at teaching you all the correct steps for everything. Fantastic experience: I really liked the lady instructor, karen. What an amazing woman, patient, strong and calm. She really guides to for everything literally from scratch. I was always afraid of the instructors as most of them I met were rude. From lane changing to all sorts of parking she tells you what exactly you are lacking. If you have driving phobia, consult her. Negative experience: Overall not the greatest experience, I took a few lessons with Karen before deciding to leave. Karen isn’t great at explaining what to do, or correcting you, rather she just tends to yell and is rude. Overall her negative attitude and inability to teach is why I left I was able to get my first exposure to driving and would say I learnt things, but it’s not a positive learning environment. Would not recommend to anyone, as there are more instructors out there who actually care and know how to teach better.

Fantastic experience: I had three prior instructors from another school but I never worked on getting my license because I didn’t get to the point of being confident. Time came that I had to, I searched on the internet for an affordable driving school and found Kingston Driving Academy. KIRAN taught me tricks that I did not get from the previous instructors. She instantly calls out my mistakes and insults me if necessary..lol. Under her guidance, I passed the G2 test in 2019 and the G test yesterday, Nov. 16, 2022. I feel good that I’m now a fully licensed driver in Ontario, that I don’t have to do anything anymore except to be careful while on the road. I will always be thankful to Kiran and definitely recommend her to anybody who wants to get their driver’s license.

Negative experience: Rude instructor. Was on the phone for entire lesson. Had me drive her around while she did errands and dropped off money to her family. Called me names and often grabbed the wheel during lessons which is so unsafe. Overall unprofessional and disappointing. Cut my losses and got much better lessons elsewhere.
