I took the BDE course and gave my G road test exam at Guelph centre and passed in the first attempt. I would recommend anyone looking to learn driving from scratch (just like me as I had no driving experience in Canada), to go to A.Salam as he is the best instructor here. He is very calm, patient and makes sure you are comfortable when driving , which in my opinion is very important. He ensures he is transparent with sharing road knowledge and his feedback is very positive which helps you drive safely and with confidence. Negative experience: This a a terrible school. I don't know how they go good rating but it's impossible to deal with them and it's simply a waste of money - zero teaching, no refund policy. Do not recommend. Look elsewhere and pick another school.

Negative experience: Beware - don’t be fooled by these FAKE 5 star reviews. My instructor Salam would often go on his phone and answer calls during my lessons. He also often showed up late by 10 mins or more, and was very disorganized with his scheduling. Overall, very unprofessional. I paid around $700 for 10 lessons and I do not think it was worth it. Although Salam was a very kind instructor and did somewhat help me get more comfortable with driving, I am highly disappointed by his lack of professionalism and especially his attempt to use fake reviews to “boost” his credibility.

Negative experience: DO NOT USE!!! After three lessons my instructor was laid off and they never followed up to book any future lessons. Also, cancelled a lesson day of 20 minutes prior. Also, was unable to access the online lessons and never completed any. After a while of waiting I got fed up and went to a reliable driving school. When I went in to request refund for my 7 unused lessons and however many hours of unused online classes totalling hundreds of dollars I was denied. I requested to speak with the owner and was told he would contact me but never received anything. Terrible communication all around and very unprofessional!!! Take your money elsewhere as I spent hundreds and only received 3 lessons for my money. EDIT: Don't be fooled by fake 5-star reviews or owners responses. Paid $700 for package 5 (10 lessons + online class). Received 3 lessons, was never scheduled again & couldn't access online classes. Lessons cancelled twice with one being 7 minutes before, due to "car issues" or "instructor had to leave". Denied refund as a cherry on top.

Negative experience: Buyer beware! This place is very unprofessional. It all started with taking $1079.15 from me not providing a receipt, than asking me for proof of payment months after the fact. Thank God I took a picture of a hand written receipt presented to me when I paid. This was proof that I did pay a woman working there. The owner claimed he had to fire that person because she was taking the funds and not providing receipts. The owner proceeded to go through his rusty old file cabinets claiming to look for proof of payment made for my son which was not there. He could not argue since I showed him the screen shot that we did pay! I then demanded a proper receipt. There was months of waiting to hearb when driving practice could start. Driving finally started, they advised my son to come 10 mins before his practice, for 10 Fridays. They would always show up late. On Friday Feb 3rd I called the owner , I told him I was upset because his driver was a no show, and I felt like he and his school was setting my son up for failure. He said. he would contact the driver and get back to me. Also said if the driver canceled he would credit me. He the owner was pretending to be someone else, said he was going to find out why the so called driver canceled and to wait to hear from him. After waiting 3 hours and not hearing anything I decided to text him as I got no reply. He then tried to ignore me, the person who paid him, and called my son. When I heard my son saying to him, we agreed to Friday at 3 not Monday, I took the phone and expressed my dismay. This idiot had the nerve to tell me I am acting like I own the place. I responded by saying you took my money and you are not giving us what we paid for. Also asked him when he goes to the store does he not expect or get what he pays for. He tried talking over me the entire time. When he realized he could not out talk me, he hung up on me. Absolutely no respect. He then went ahead and emailed my son saying his appointment would now be on Monday, after we told him, Mondays was not possible. At this point we have had 4 driving lesions, 6 left, and my son is just where he started, still needing a good driving school and instructor. Pls do not let what happened to us happen to you. Keep your hard earned money and go to a reputable driving school. I am hoping to get a refund, this entire ordeal has traumatized my son. As a result, my son is now anxious going to drive with these unprofessional people. They went as far as to blame my son and I, for their failure of holding up their end of the paid bargain. I will be making them famous, contacting the ministry of Transportation and CP24 to expose them, no one should be treated this way. They should not be allowed to be in business. Bunch of crooks! Ooh, and I read how they like to tell people that give negative reviews, which they deserve, there is no record of them doing business with them. Or that they are lying.. I have proof I paid them to teach my son. And they kept coming up short.. Bunch of damn lairs... Try me... I will be sure to expose you. Get your damn act together. This is Canada, not your 3rd world country where you can get away with dishonesty.. Always asking people for their email address and proof of when they started. Hello buddy, you messed with the wrong one this time. You took my money on July 11th 2023. You are going to need to stop telling me not to share my experience. Also, stop sending messages with the driver and my son, for me to remove my review. Have respect for peoples hard earned money. I only wish I read the reviews before coming to your business. I told you, I will go to the ministry of transportation and the better business bureau if the nonsense continues. You did not give me an option for a refund, as I wanted, therefore, I have no choice but to keep my son enroll with your school. I have proof of everything I am saying. Do not push me. I am waiting for my son to complete everything and be over with you. I expect him to receive what I paid for, and be safe while taking lessons with your driving school!

Negative experience: Mr. Salam , the man who runs this establishment is always on the phone while instructing. He saves money by doing all the scheduling and answers calls from his students and potential students while he’s teaching on the road with his students. He has no sense of scheduling and is too cheap to hire an employee to work out these things. An instructor has to be concentrated on his students while on the road and not his phone . I would not recommend him at all !

Negative experience: I took lessons last year. I didn’t finish as I felt demotivated and they never bothered to follow up as they only care about money. The instructor was always on his phone when I took lessons. He was also late and then forgot that he has to make up for it. I asked many questions around booking tests and lessons as well but I was not given clear answers as they claim on their website. Now I have fear that every instructor will be this casual and I still don’t have my license to drive yet. No thank you.

Negative experience: Salam didn’t come to Canada alone. He brought with him his third world country corrupted business practices. I have 16+ years of driving experience outside Canada. I passed my G1 and I wanted to practice for couple of hours before sitting for the G test, including 5 TIMES on the highway. But he allegedly claimed that I need 5 HOURS on the highway (which is wrong as per the Drive Test Centre). Before this, his employee found on her computer an appointment for me tonight and another on Dec 13, 2022. But when I refused to buy the 5 hours package as he wanted (instead of the 3 hours package), he told me no spots in December and his employee doesn’t know how to do things at work. So his employee stood speechless. He has Zero integrity, Zero customer service, Zero leadership. Be aware when dealing with him. I am looking for another driving school, and they are numerous.

Fantastic experience: I had been driving for years but was never able to get my full license. I wanted to take a couple classes before my G2 test to go over skills in the exam and to identify any bad habits I may have picked up. Salam went over what would be on the test and helped me hone my skills by MTO standards. The day of the exam, after a miscommunication with an examiner, Salam encouraged me to speak up for myself, I was able to retake the test and was told I drove "perfectly". I don't think that would have happened without the tips and skills honed from my lessons. Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: I just passed my G2 exam with a high score. I owe it mainly to Salam and his driving school. As an instructor he is exceptionally patient and extremely professional. Even when I was nervous or panicking he was always calm and reassuring making me believe in my abilities that I developed following his meticulous guidance. Negative experience: Haven’t had good experience with this driving school. I had hard time getting classes from him because of his schedule. He canceled my two classes because it’s not within 24h. While driving he is mostly on the phone which I didn’t feel safe to drive. You can find better price and driving classes than this. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Update: He called me, started harassing me, calling me names for writing a bad review. I get that he is doing a business but he has to take in whether it’s a good or bad review. There is no need to get upset, start calling your customer and harassing them! I will call 911 and report if you call me again!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with A. Salam - at Artere Driving School. I took the 5 hours package to prepare for my G test - I had failed the first time because I didn’t know what I was doing but after 5 hours with A. Salam, i was much more confident and knew exactly what I needed to do to pass the test and be a safe driver, including merging onto highways. I definitely recommend for downtown not-everyday drivers like me - the school is really east to get to on TTC, downtown- and still very close to merging onto Lakeshore and highways so lots of practice for the test.

He goes out of the way to make you feel comfortable, and he works his hardest to prepare you for the test. Fantastic experience: I definitely recommend this driving school. The online portion was very engaging and very convenient. The in car lessons really helped become successful in getting my G2 license, thanks to A. Salam. He is very patient, gives really great advice and is such a great instructor.
