The Art of Driving School Chilliwack & Abbotsford

Positive experience: I feel like we were the only ones who had issues with this school and I don't understand why. We started lessons with them in January. We had only 3 lessons within a span of almost 8 months. This was NOT due to us not trying to book more lessons. We would select a lesson, wait and rarely hear back. At one point we sent an email asking if we could book after we had selected a lesson online 2-3 weeks previous. We were emailed back "an instructor will reach out" but they never did. On average it was taking 3 months to get ONE lesson. We ended up switching to another school and got 3 lessons in 1month and passed the driving exam right after. Perhaps they prioritize packages and younger students but this was an odd experience.

Fantastic experience: Sue was a great driving instructor! She was very patient and accommodating. During the lessons she was very informative and helped me become a great driver. Her encouraging and positive attitude helped me to pass my road test on the first try. Thanks again for your guidance!

Fantastic experience: i passed my N the first time with art of driving with the help from karen and lori. they were both such a huge help and gave me all the knowledge i needed to pass my road test. i want to give a huge thank you to karen for giving me all the last minute fix ups the day of and before my road test and a huge thank you to lori for making it super comfortable and easy for my first time on the road. i highly recommend booking with art of driving to any new drivers out there:)

Fantastic experience: Absolutely recommend Art of Driving to anyone trying to get their license, their instructors are not only professional but also understanding, encouraging, and patient. I enjoyed my time with all of the instructors I had lessons with but Karen was the one that got me where I needed to be and believed in me even when I didn’t have faith in myself. She worked with me in a way that I could understand easily but overall taught me the skills that made me a safer driver. Thanks to Karen I have gotten more confident on the road and passed my road test first try. I will definitely be doing more lessons in the future, thank you Art of Driving!

Fantastic experience: Karen is amazing! After a terrible in car experience with another driving school, we found Karen at the Art of Driving. She is an amazing driving instructor but goes far beyond just teaching the art of driving. Karen supported my daughter mentally and emotionally; and believed in her until she believed in herself. My daughter passed her test first time with flying colours thanks to Karen. The administration team was also fabulous! Easy to work with, helped with lessons swaps and answering any questions we had. We will be back!

Fantastic experience: I pass my N test all thanks to Daryl. He gives clear, calm instructions, and detailed explanations. Daryl is also great at calming nerves with his calm demeanor, light conversations and jokes. I'd recommend him to anyone that wants lessons. Fantastic experience: I recently passed my N with the help of Daryl from art of driving. If you have issues with being stressed and multitasking on the road to be safe he will 100% accommodate for your learning style. He says and teaches skills on the road in a simple way to help you understand what the task is at hand. In an extremely short period of time he helped me become a safe driver and I can’t thank him enough for persevering with me and making sure I pass my N. I recommend the art of driving to any L drivers, and specifically Daryl:)

Fantastic experience: The best driving school!! I was so nervous about failing my class 5 road test but a single lesson with Karen from AoD and i felt so confident and i passed my test!! The instructor was so knowledgeable and patient with me, AoD was able to schedule me in such a short notice and i am so happy i found then, totally worth the investment. This is the best place to go for driving lessons! In my case i only took one lesson but i recommended you book as many as you need with their team because you will learn so much from them. After suffering with PTSD and some other things that make driving and the act of even being in a car difficult I can safely say I have the confidence and skills to drive anywhere id need to in just 4 sessions. The whole experience from booking to lessons was super easy and flexible, they really helped me out with everything and i would absolutely recommend them to anyone that needs any sort of help getting on the road.

I used to swear to my mother that I would never ever drive and that driving was the bane of my existence, but of course, driving became a necessary skill to learn. My driving instructor, Daryl, was very helpful and encouraging, and with some lessons, driving slowly became less of an enemy to me. I ended up passing on my first driving test, fully believing that I would not! I am very grateful to Daryl and this driving school. Fantastic experience: Lori, Darryl, Karen and Sue all played a huge part in me passing. I came into Art of Driving in 2019 not exactly ready to complete my lisence but got some good driving experience in with Lori and she helped me tons and we made a connection. I came back in 2021-2022? I went to pass my license in February but wasn’t completely ready. My dad had a heart attack the day of my test, and lori comforted me and brought me for breakfast knowing I had been at the hospital all night and I made the call I wasn’t ready. She SAVED my $ from my test date and helped me put it towards future lessons. Fast forward to October, I was taking lessons here and there to take my test and went for it. Karen was helping me, and she really boosted my confidence. She’s very knowledgeable in her technique and very easy and stress free to learn from. I didn’t pass due to myself going nervously through a school zone, but I took the lessons from what I needed to work on and went again this April. You just gotta trust they have your back, if you are a sensitive driver - trust that these guys all will have your back. I’m a really sensitive driver and Darryl, Karen and Lori learned to work with me in a way that was helpful for me to process and also safe. If they take the wheel, know that they know what they are doing and trust and LOL don’t press on the break if they gotta take the wheel, they are trained. Driving was a huge anxiety for me and over time my confidence and anxiety changed. I’ve had many lessons and gone over many maneuvers. Fast forward to April, I took a few more tests and I would show up ready not drinking any coffee etc and ready to learn. Karen wasn’t available who I loved! But Darryl was, and Lori for one lesson. I steadily brushed up on parallel parking, reverse stall parking - hills parking, roundabouts, and 3 point turns. I was able to combine all of this knowledge to pass my test. I went for a drive with Darryl before my test & he really helped me feel comfortable during my lessons and was always friendly and ready to reexplain and was always making sure I drove safe and was very very kind and helpful which made it easy for me to learn. I cried hysterically when I passed and Lori told me, I’ll see you when you pass - she was with another student when I got off my road test and she even helped me when I was short $10 which I accidentally didn’t count my $ right and was short. If you put in the work, they’ll put in the work for you. I’ve gained friendships out of art of driving. They are some of the friendliest people I have ever met, Brett and her family. They are doing their best for themselves and their family and they are so professional. I’m super proud of myself and I’m super thankful that I went through art of driving, even when I felt like giving up cause of my own anxiety - they were always there when I picked back up to help give me a good push to be a safe and secure driver and to try again, no false confidence. I understand why they get the best in Chilliwack award for driving school, because they are one of the BEST and they set a great standard. Thank you to Lori for building this business and supporting all of your little village of people to become as great as you are. I love you girl, thank you much. Fantastic experience: Wow! It was an awesome couple of lessons I had with Lori. Informative and not overwhelming. She encouraged me and built my confidence back up on a couple bad habits I had learned over the years. I will never let my license lapse again. This morning I took my road test and passed. Thank you Lori from the bottom of my heart. I highly recommend if you are taking a road test or learning to drive, the Art of Driving School is the way to go. Again thank you Lori.

Fantastic experience: Took a two hour lesson with Lori today, to practice for an upcoming road test. She was professional, knowledgeable and very personable. She helped highlight the bad habits I’d developed, and offered practical advice to implement with practice. I would highly reccommend her to anyone, particularly if they struggle with anxiety, as she helped me feel more at ease. I’d taken lessons with other driving schools before, but The art of driving school has far surpassed my previous experiences.

Fantastic experience: The instructors at The Art of Driving School were very nice and helpful with teaching me all the techniques and skills required for driving. I started driving in a parking lot with very little driving experience to passing my road test on my first try because of the help of my amazing instructors.

Fantastic experience: The instructors at The Art of Driving School are fantastic. Daryl, Karen and Sue are all friendly, calm and patient. My son primarily drove with Lori who is an amazing teacher. With the same positive characteristics as the others, Lori also provided lots of parental feedback and advice for practicing outside of lessons. We now have 2 kiddos driving with the help of The Art of Driving and plan to enroll our third when the time comes.

Fantastic experience: I just passed my N test on my first try thanks to Sue, And Darrell! I took lessons with Sue regularly where she taught me how to drive safely. Sue is an amazing instructor who makes you feel calm while driving. Darrell helped me with my prep test, where he went over everything I needed to do properly to pass my test. I would totally recommend to any other new drivers to take lessons with Art Of Driving!

Fantastic experience: I have been with AOD from the beginning from 20+ lessons to get my N to passing my full class 5 with not a single demerit all with the help of their amazing patient and devoted teachers they deeply care about each students needs and struggles aswell as recognizing their strengths (mine being crippling driving anxiety) despite all the comes with that they were ready to help! I cant recommend this driving school enough thank you Lori, Karen, Sue and Nina the 3 years with you all has me over the moon to say I've finally hit the finish line. Fantastic experience: For as long as I can remember I put off learning how to drive until I got to the point I felt it was too late for me to do it and I was just “not going to be a driver”. Last year I decided I was going to at least try and I reached out to the Art of Driving school. I got through the classroom lessons which was very informative and gave me essential basics. I was extremely nervous to start my behind the wheel lessons, but I got them scheduled and was mentally preparing myself. My first lesson with Sue was seamless. She is an incredible instructor and really made sure I was comfortable before I actually started driving in the lesson, and once I did, I couldn’t believe it, I was actually driving! Every lesson with Sue was something I looked forward to, she helped me to increase my confidence as a driver and I could see myself improving with each lesson. I went from someone who was too scared to even try to drive, to passing my road test and receiving my N on the first try! This would never have happened if it wasn’t for the Art of Driving School and the absolute professional guidance and dedication to get me through from Sue, who I now am happy to call my friend. I am truly sad my lessons are now over but what I have learned will stay with me. Thank you for literally changing my life!

Fantastic experience: i got Nina for my first couple of lessons with only 2 hours of prior experience, she exhilarated my skills and confidence in my driving abilities as well as talked with me on my own personal matters, I also got Sue for a few lessons when i was already comfortable driving and just needed practice and she was very outgoing and was willing to help where needed. aside from my package of driving i have little to no other driving experience, but with their help i passed my N test.

Fantastic experience: My son was very hesitant on taking driving lessons. From day one, Sue was patient, kind, understanding and extremely knowledgeable. We couldn't believe how quickly he gained confidence behind the wheel and how much safer he was in such a short period of time. The school and Sue were accommodating to our needs for certain appointment times. We managed to get my son in for his driving test on a cancelation. He still had one lesson left and the school changed the date of the lesson so he could have it right before his exam. We can't thank Sue and the school enough for what they did. Our son passed his test without any issues!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Nina! I got my lessons very short notice and close to my test date yet she was able to go over everything I needed to learn in two short lessons. Nina has helped me become more comfortable and confident in my driving skills by encouraging me constantly. She has a calm presence which makes it easier to learn since I wasn’t afraid to make mistakes around her. Overall, I would recommend Nina to anyone looking for lessons!

Fantastic experience: Within the short 3 hours of lessons from Sue (driving instructor) from Art of Driving School I learned easy to understand techniques and methods while also observational practiced to succeed in any type of driving. I was able to head into the exam with just a few hours of driving lesson experience and with complete confidence of what to expect. Outside of the lesson time I was able to make contact with the office mostly 24/7 if their were any issues I had with either scheduling or details concerning each lesson. I can’t recommend this driving school enough to ensure you succeed at your road test!

Fantastic experience: As the parents of a student who always needed that little bit extra, it was a blessing to find a driving school that just "understood". From day one The Art of Driving, and instructor Sue created a supportive & positive lesson experience for our son. Sue was able to calm the nerves, encourage and teach strong driving skills. She even helped pick up the pieces, when the first road test was not successful and our driver's courage went out the window. After one more round of lessons with Sue & Meagan (her trusted vehicle) and roadtest prep with Darryl we now have an "N" driver in our house!! From day one The Art of Driving exceeded all of our expectations. We will always be grateful for their understanding, encouragement and professionalism.

Fantastic experience: My experience with The Art of Driving School was extremely positive and well organized. I started out with very little experience but while working with my instructor Sue, I was able to pass the test with confidence and almost zero errors! Sue met me where I was at, gradually lead me through each question and taught helpful driving techniques (Vehicle positioning, Parking and Road Rules.. etc) with patience and explained everything in a motivational yet easy to understand way. Any anxiety surrounding Lessons, Tests or Driving, disappeared after a few conversations. It’s apparent she is passionate about instructing and genuinely cares as it felt like and became taking lessons with a friend to achieve a life goal. The Art of Driving School team as a whole was consistently working with me, creating schedules for lessons and keeping in contact incase something changed. I would recommend their services to anyone looking to seriously pass their driving test and will be taking more lessons myself once ready to upgrade! I double recommend asking if Sue is available to be your instructor as her teaching genuinely made the difference and I’m very appreciative.

Fantastic experience: Sue is the GOAT, she somehow managed to bring me from someone who scared another instructor out of the car to passing the N test with only one demerit, she was very calm during my rocky start and was very helpful in teaching me in a way to start, even though ive gotten my license i will miss sue as my teacher.

Fantastic experience: This company is one of the best! Sue was so patient with me and my lack of knowledge when I started my lessons back in May. They were also very accommodating when it came to rescheduling my test and lessons. I passed my N road test on my second try thanks to this school! I highly recommend getting lessons and scheduling a mock test before your actually test. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a driving school.
