Fantastic experience: I rented a car and had a lesson with Ronald to do my driving test today. He was great! The guy knows his stuff, and he’s super friendly. He pointed out a few bad habits I had and specific things I should watch out for to prepare me for the test. We went to the drive test centre together, and he congratulated me afterwards when I passed. Would 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: Ronald was the best teacher i’ve had throughout my life, he was very flexible and had different teaching styles he was very good at explaining rules and things i needed to do very well to the point where i didn’t need pictures or other help, and when i needed other help he had pictures and booklet to show me how things were done from a different perspective. I had booked my g2 with about a month of his classes and managed to pass very comfortably, if you have confidence issues or anxiety about driving i highly recommend him, although maybe do it earlier than a month before your test like i did.

Fantastic experience: I started my in-person classes with Ronald less than four weeks before my G2 driving test (and with very little driving experience)! I really appreciated Ronald's teaching style: he was very patient, helpful and clear, and never put me in an uncomfortable situation. I also had the pleasure of working with Carlos, who made sure I was ready and calm on the day of my G2 test. Besides passing the test on my first try, my experience at the driving school has made me much more comfortable driving, I highly recommend it!

Negative experience: It's been a while since I've had my 2 lessons (in the beginning of 2022), but I was curious to see if this school was still operating and I am absolutely BAFFLED that there are good reviews, so I decided I need to put in my part. I forgot exactly who my instructor was, but he made me meet him outside a subway station in -20 weather. He was late. I told him exactly what I needed help with (reverse & parallel parking), but instead he made me drive around in circles for the hour. Then, he made me drop him off at his home so that he can use the washroom, and made me walk to the subway in the FREEZING cold. I don't know what made me take a second lesson, but I did. Same thing happened. I've since moved to BC and finally got my license with the help of an amazing instructor, who was extremely comprehensive, picked me up & dropped me off at my home, and even helped me with using my own car before my lesson. The guys at the Learner's Academy write on their website that "they are not a taxi service" but it is completely standard to drop-off & pick-up a student within their home, especially when you're paying decent money for a lesson. It's extremely disappointing to see this school is still around.

Fantastic experience: I went from driving without any techniques to passing my G test on my first try thanks to Albert! He was ever accommodating to do 2 hours lessons every day for 4 days before my G test. He taught me actual techniques I could implement on the road and defensive driving. Thanks to him he catches my mistakes and would make suggestions on what I could do to avoid them. He even explained why certain actions are dangerous on the road. He’s also incredibly patient whenever I failed to do something. That helped with my confidence a lot. I would never think I could pass my G test on my first try! Thanks Albert!

He’s great at explaining things in detail without losing patience, and making sure that everything is fully understood. Fantastic experience: I am an older novice driver, and came to Learner's Academy for help preparing for my G test, which I had previously failed three times over the years. I worked with both Ronald and Carlos, who have very different styles but both of whom I learned a lot from. Ronald brought a critical eye to my driving technique and habits, and worked with me intensively to identify and break down some bad habits and replace them with new, safer ones. Then Carlos gave me some final tips and tricks, and helped me achieve a mental calm while driving which made a huge difference given how anxious I get in these tests. I didn't immediately pass my next try on my G test (mostly due to nerves), but i re-registered for three weeks later and after one final prep session to address the areas I'd struggled with on the road test, today I passed (and with flying colours, I actually had an excellent score). I can't believe I am finally a fully licensed driver after years of struggling with this, and really credit Ronald and Carlos with getting me there, and helping me develop into a much better, safer driver.

Fantastic experience: I PASSED my G-2 with an almost perfect score!!!!! Story time: I came to Ronald extremely fearful and anxious about driving. I definitely had a driving phobia. It was bad. I would shake uncontrollably behind the wheel, cry, panic and freeze up in the middle of intersections. Some days I truly thought it was impossible of reaching the dream of having my license and buying a car. I truly believed I would never conquer my fears. But I was determined to try!!!! So if this sounds like you- take it from me, a 30 year old woman who never thought she could do it. I just did it!!!!!! Ronald was patient and worked with me for almost a year of lessons. Some days I wanted to give up if I made a mistake but I stayed consistent, pushed through it and kept investing in myself. I never imagined I would pass my G-2 on my first attempt - seriously! I did not think I would pass it….but I did it. Fantastic experience: I just got my G2 today, and if it wasn't for Ronald I don't think I would have passed. I had taken driving lessons before, but Ronald helped improve my skills so much, explained everything perfectly and in a way that made sense to me. He had me talk through my actions so I understood what and why I was doing everything. He was incredibly patient and understanding, as well. I felt more confident in my driving on a whole and he taught me skills that are not only important for the test, but for as long as I'm on the road. Negative experience: Let me start off by saying that a school that has a no-refund policy, is a serious red flag! Avoid this school at all costs! First driving lesson consisted of a lot of talk, which started with Albert farting in the car, then denying it. It later turned into me filling the tires with air, and wasting more time doing nothing. I was naive, and wanted to give them a second chance, so I did a second lesson. That consisted of more wasted time, by picking up and dropping his mother off from groceries. Completely unprofessional! Avoid this school at all costs!

Negative experience: I finally passed my G2 but did not do it through this school. Actually, I was traumatized from driving because of this place and avoided driving for a long time. My driving instructor was Albert and he would just straight up yell and swear at my face. I remember having my first full blown panic attack while I was driving, I couldn’t speak and he was still yelling at me. If you’re a nervous first time driver, avoid this place at all costs!! Also, I remember calling in the first time to inquire and they just pressured and pushed me into paying since they were starting class in a few days. Just felt scummy overall.

Negative experience: I took lessons with Albert a few years ago. Learning academy did teach me the basics of driving and they cemented the rules of the road in my head. However, I found them to be lacking in professionalism. Albert would often show up late for our lessons. He would also have me drive him to his home, the grocery store and other errands in the middle of our lessons. I probably spent a total of about an hour waiting for him on time that I paid for. Alberts demeanor during lessons was atrocious. He would regularly tell me stories about crashes he had witnessed, people he had seen die and how dangerous driving was in general while I was behind the wheel. It didn't really inspire confidence in me as a new driver. Driving in rush hour is hard enough. It's next to impossible with a 300 lb man screaming in your ear and slapping your hands off the steering wheel when you make a mistake. I didn't get comfortable driving until I started practicing with a friend about a year later. I now hold my G License and am a safe and confident driver. But it took me a long time to unlearn all the anxieties Albert had instilled in me. Learning academy's lessons are much cheaper than formal driving lessons, but I really wish I had paid to go somewhere else. Do yourself a favour and avoid this shoddy business.

Fantastic experience: I got my G2 yesterday on my first try and Ronald is an awesome teacher. He has tons of experience so he can spot major and minor issues in your driving. He will make you a great defensive driver. Ronald is extremely detail orientated and every lesson is packed with knowledge. Negative experience: I had a good experience with Albert but midway through my lessons Ronald became my instructor. During my last lesson, my driving was unfortunately bad enough that Ronald lost his patience, yelled at me and grabbed my leg to push the gas in what was already a very stressful situation. I felt very uncomfortable being touched and yelled at by someone who is supposed to help me. I paid for 10 hours but did not feel comfortable finishing the last hour and a half. I’ll be looking elsewhere if I decide to take lessons in the future again.

Fantastic experience: Ronald was a great driving instructor. He is very attentive and has a ton of experience. He can notice little adjustments to help you become a more confident driver. Confidence is key for the driving test and he explains things really well and in a calm manner. Would highly recommend this driving school, communication was easy and they were punctual with their timing.

Fantastic experience: I came to this school based off of recommendations from other anxious drivers and I am so glad I did. Ronald at Learner's Academy Driving School is an excellent instructor. Friendly and patient but also rigorous in a good way to keep you honest with yourself. He is also highly knowledgeable, and uses a lot of different teaching tools and tactics to help you understand the material. I had never driven before and Ronald was very good with answering all my questions as they came up. Passed my G2 test on my first try and I actually felt very calm and confident as I was doing it thanks to the guidance and technique I was taught. My partner has commented multiple times on the improvement he sees in my driving after doing lessons and he has even implemented some of the tips I learned from Ronald into his own driving.

Fantastic experience: I spent 17 years avoiding the driver's seat and then suddenly had an ambitious goal. Get my G2 within 42 days before I had to get my G1 for the 4th time. I was always too anxious and scared to drive and my parents refused to be in the vehicle to let me or any of my siblings learn or practice. Ronald is a fantastic instructor and I loved the focus on defensive driving which you find yourself using instantly once you stop over thinking about your hands and feet. 42 days from my first driving lesson to my G2 test is not a lot of time when you're not driving every day and although my goal was ambitious, Ronald was the one to push me to keep my test because I did waver and want to give up. I even cried during one of our lessons because I was so frustrated with myself (not with the instructor) and he didn't make it weird but assured me that students cry more often than you would think. The prices are incredibly reasonable if you compare them to other driving schools too as I personally wanted more than 10 hours of in car lessons. I also enjoy that they offer 2 hour lessons instead of other driving schools doing 45 mins-1 hour. 2 hours is a great time to get comfortable and flies by so quickly as I did feel that 1 hour felt too short when I did do a shorter lesson. I look forward to more lessons with Ronald to help get my full G!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing! I came in with some experience: a few hours driving with angry parents and 10 hours with another school's instructor who never looked up from his phone during lessons, so I was incredibly stressed about driving. Ronald was extremely patient with me and taught me quite honestly everything I know now. I've spent 7 hours with him, and it was enough to get my anxiety calmed down & even get me excited about driving again. I just passed my G2 with flying colours today!

Fantastic experience: Ronald was a great instructor! Not only is he knowledgeable, he also has patience. I went into my lessons a nervous driver, but he really helped build my confidence behind the wheel. Learning how to drive in a busy downtown Toronto area can be quite intimidating, but Ronald breaks everything down in a way that is easy to understand by using diagrams, pictures, and other visuals (which I personally find very helpful). Because of the confidence that Ronald helped me gain and his experience as an instructor, I was able to pass my G2 on the first try! Fantastic experience: My driving skills on the highway needed upgrading after 20 years of only driving in the city. Ron very patiently took me from basic driving techniques and onto the Gardiner Expressway at 100 km/hr. I now feel very confident and calm driving at high speeds.

Fantastic experience: Ronald is an amazing instructor! I wouldn’t have been able to pass my G2 without him. He have great tips on parking, turning, lane changes and more. He really helped me develop my confidence in my driving ability.

Fantastic experience: I guess you could say I got lucky: I found Learners doing a Google search and read the reviews (hoping they were all legit) and took the plunge. Driving-wise, I am a city dweller (with no car), driving experience in country where we drive on the other side of the road, who had a G1 mostly for ID purposes. When that expired during the pandemic, I decided that it was time to go all the way. Ronald is an exceptional instructor. He is patient and practical. He is exceedingly up to date with the rules of the road, insider knowledge and I appreciate that his teaching style is both verbal as well as visual (diagrams, model cars and videos). He also has nerves of steel. I overheard someone trying to negotiate the price of the lessons and I'll say this: you could probably find someone cheaper but I doubt you'd get the level of expertise, friendliness and professionalism that you will get from Learners. Worth every penny...and I passed my G2 on the first try. Thanks again and see you for my G!

Negative experience: My son took a couple of lessons here at the Learners Academy Driving School with Albert a couple of months ago. The lessons were okay at first but they quickly went downhill. Albert would constantly raise his voice at him, telling him that he needs to pay attention more while angrily pointing at the mirrors. He would also smack, literally hit his hands off the wheel sometimes while he drove, telling him to let go of the wheel. He also kept saying that he would fail the test over and over again, and would take the wheel from him forcibly when he wasn't making the turns as quickly because he was nervous which was expected. He'd belittle him, saying that he kept making mistakes and that he "was just taught this so he should know better". Albert would often forget what happened in their previous lessons, asking my son to "refresh" him on what was happening. Overall, a lack of professionalism, lots of aggression which made my son much more nervous behind the wheel, and a lot of impatience. I will not be recommending this school to anyone because of his poor experience.

Fantastic experience: I had a really good experience. I got my G2 in my first try. I will also be attending for my G classes next summer. Ronald is a very good teacher. 10/10 recommend. Honestly.

Fantastic experience: My mom and my dad did lessons with Albert many years back and had a very successful experience with him. I just finished my own lessons for my G2 road test and passed my test first try with all the help of my incredible instructor, Ronald. He is a smart instructor that is great at making sure his students excel to the best of their abilities. This is the perfect driving school to take lessons with whether you have Ronald or Albert as your teacher. You won’t regret it!

Fantastic experience: Albert is a fantastic teacher! He's patient and very knowledgeable. I was an anxious driver and had some bad habits from previous lessons with another instructor. Albert was understanding when I made mistakes, and took the time to help me correct them. He always gave his full attention to me and the road during our lessons, and I finally passed my g2 with him. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Albert and Learners Academy if you’re looking for driving instructors :D

Fantastic experience: I have driving experience from another country so I went straight from a G1 to a G. I know I would not have been able to do it without Ronald as my driving instructor. In 7 lessons, Ronald was able to point out bad habits I had developed over the years and he was also able to provide me with useful defensive driving tips. I trained with Carlos, and he is an excellent teacher - he'll make sure to cover all bases, go through everything at the right pace, and help you stay calm throughout Strongly recommend for anyone looking for an instructor - esp. those who are used to driving in geographies different from North America (i.e. where driving is on the other side of the road). Fantastic experience: I booked a G road test vehicle and refresher lesson with Carlos at Learner's Academy in May of 2022. The vehicle was in good condition and we got to the testing center on time. His lessons were friendly, professional and filled with helpful hints on what MTO would be looking for in their road test. Also noted and corrected a few bad driving habits I picked up over the years. I would happily recommend him as a driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: I just passed my G road test yesterday! If not Albert, I would not be that confident behind the wheel. I have not met a better instructor than Albert. He is very knowledgeable and the best teacher who knows how to prepare you not only for the exam but mainly for a live traffic and how to stay safe on the roads. Fantastic experience: 100% recommended! I needed a car for my G2 test and some extra prep before the exam, to get rid of some bad habits that I had acquired during years of international driving. Ronald is a real professional, calm, patient and great at explaining things over and over again. But he’s also strict and will catch every little mistake, which is good because you’ll get to the exam well prepared. Also the communication was good and fast. Ronald reached out to me quickly after I had contacted him through the website to set up my lessons for the test day. Will for sure come back for a couple hours of practice before getting my G license!!

Fantastic experience: This is THE place if you want to become a confident and safe driver. Ronald is a patient instructor with great teaching skills. You get to practice Downtown Toronto too, which is extremely valuable since there's definitely more nuance to it than driving outside the downtown core. Fantastic experience: Ronald is one of the coolest driving instructors that you will ever meet in Toronto. I've had years of international experience before, but he was quick to point out the differences in the standards in Ontario. He gave easy to understand and practical instructions, as well as real world senarios not taught in books or online, that helped me quickly cope with Toronto driving and curb my bad habits, within a short time. Fantastic experience: I was impressed from the first contact with this driving school. I had my G test coming up in a week and wanted some lessons. I spoke with Albert who, although my test was very close, went out of his way to accommodate me in getting enough lessons in preparation for my test. His help didn't seemed strained or "money hungry" either. Albert put me on to Carlos. Carlos! What can I say? He was amazing! He pointed out road safety tips that you tend to forget after driving for many years. He was meticulous and genuinely invested in me passing. He was very patient and professional. I believe he would be just the same with an absolute beginner as well as I felt almost like one at one point! I would recommend this driving school to anyone interested in having lessons. Carlos is a great teacher who prepares you for all the eventualities of the road. I passed my G test on the first go and I credit Carlos for playing a huge role in this.

Fantastic experience: Ronald was honestly the best driving teacher I've ever had. With two former teachers in another province, Ronald actually made driving feel comfortable, safe and proactive.
