Fantastic experience: I have driven many times before I took the driving school, but taking it and practicing has helped me learn so much new techniques and tricks to benefit my driving skills. Taking the classes really made me more confident and comfortable with my driving. I was able to learn how to parallel park very easily as well which I struggled beforehand. Taking the driving class was not only educational but fun!

Positive experience: Took this course to try to get over my anxiety on driving years after an accident, The instructor has been kind, and patient, and willing to explain things in a different way when I didn't understand something. The booking process was a bit wonky, but It worked out overall. I am actually enjoying driving for the first time in years.

Fantastic experience: First time driving, my instructor was really insightful and helpful. He would remind me to keep a good habit of not speeding and avoiding bad habits whenever I got complacent. I felt like his intuition was spot on, he knew when to take from community driving, to main roads, to the highway without me having any issues. Would differently do advance driving school with the same guy for winter preparation.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't been on the road due to a fear of driving from when I first started practicing, so I decided to book classes. My instructor was really kind and gentle, and always used a calm tone and hand gestures to guide my driving without making me feel pressured. He gave me many tips and made sure to check to make sure I'm remembering everything I'm learning. I've gotten over my fear of main roads and highways and improved drastically (went from driving 5km/h to 100km/h!) thanks to this school! The only complaint is that for some reason the website makes you pay and then there is no follow up so you have to call them to schedule which felt really sketchy, so I definitely recommend calling before payment. Also the lack of real pictures of the school/instructors also made it a little weird, but don't let that fool you because I had a great experience, would totally recommend to anyone interested in a calm and helpful beginner driving class!

Fantastic experience: I have been studying with a driving instructor for 3 weeks now. I went to school to be taught how to drive a car from scratch and as a result I will be able to get a full G license. I am very happy that I managed to find this wonderful school. My instructor taught me everything I need, was attentive to me, pointed out and helped correct my mistakes. Now I can say that I am ready for the driving test. Thank you very much for the work done.

Fantastic experience: This review is on Behalf of my son. I purchased the online and in car training package. I was too nervous to teach him. My son was taught everything he needed to know about driving and he really liked his instructor. We then purchased a brush up lesson for his road test with the same instructor. My son passed his road test on his first try ! Highly recommend universal driving school if you are looking for yourself or your teen. Worth it! My son is confident is his driving abilities and knowledge of the road. And I am also !

Fantastic experience: I did my driving refresher course through this school. I was assigned to a great instructor! Calm and collected. During our two sessions he gave me various pointers which allowed me to gain confidence to resume driving again. He helped me review all aspects of driving from community roads to main roads to highways to parking. Very intelligent and the best thing about him as an instructor is, he teaches you skills that help you become a proactive driver! Therefore, I highly recommend this school.

And I passed my road test in one try.

Negative experience: Tried to contact your company to get info about your courses multiple times and have not received a reply at all. This is very unprofessional! If you are going to have an option on your website to leave a message, or even your email you should be responding daily to messages.

Negative experience: Why your website have driving courses mentioning insurance reductions when Alberta Government has already told that it will not impact any insurance rates ? I called my local registry and they told your courses are no longer eligible for insurance discount !!

Fantastic experience: Service is top-notch: I requested to have all sessions of my 10 hours of driving lessons in one whole week and they accommodated my schedule, even going through the trouble of finding me a quick replacement instructor when the assigned instructor couldn't it due to an emergency. I drove with Jawad who eased me in to driving in Calgary. He taught me how to look and scan ahead to anticipate traffic signs and conditions, reminded me to do my shoulder- and rear-checks, and instilled in me that "right of way is given and not taken." Enjoyed driving around with him as well! Thanks, Jawad!

Fantastic experience: I took an insurance reduction course with the Universal Driving School. Highly recommended! The course consisted of online classes, as well as driving classes. Especially, I would like to thank the instructor Yakub, who thoroughly explained to me all nuances of driving in Calgary, and shared his open feedback after each class. Within a few lessons my confidence rose greatly and found out what I need to work on but also what I was doing right. Negative experience: Beyond horrible drivers come out of here. I'm honestly not even sure the people giving the lessons know how to properly drive. I got behind a woman "teaching" another person how to drive. I pulled behind this person while they were doing 50 km/h through a playground zone in the right side of the road (which is a shoulder and should NOT be used to drive in) until I honked my horn and they abruptly slammed there brakes on at the shoulder of the road. I honestly dont understand how these companies aren't shut down by the government from taking people's money and not teaching them how to drive one single bit. No wonder Calgary has some of the WORST drivers! Go to AMA. You will also get lower insurance rates if you go through AMA.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with universal driving. Jacob, my driving instructor was especially amazing. He was great at teaching me different rules of the road that I was unfamiliar with. He also was great at showing me the areas I needed improvement in with my driving and how to develop those areas. I found like I was adequately prepared to take the driving test.

He had me couple of mock tests and pointed out the mistakes that I made which helped me to practice more and reduce my mistakes. I’m confident that I’ll ace my upcoming driver test.
