Fantastic experience: This is officially the best Registry in Calgary! All counters were open and no line up. I was helped by Pablo and he is amazing, efficient and quickly helped me without procrastinating the paper work I went in for. Will definitely come here again for all Registry related work.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended! I live in downtown and this registry has always been my to-go registry. The staffs are always friendly to me. I had an awful experience with a road test examiner in a registry in NE before and that’s why I booked my road test at New Urban. The examiner I had, Mike, was very professional and fair. I am very grateful that I had a good experience today with the road test at New Urban.

Fantastic experience: I did my Class 5 road test on a Friday at 11:15 am with examiner Paul (14233). He was very professional and calm throughout the test. At the end, he gave me a detailed rundown of my performance, which I really appreciated. Very pleased with the overall experience!

Fantastic experience: The lineup was very long when I arrived yet I only waited 5 minutes. They had all of their tills open. I had the pleasure of getting helped by Jeric who allowed me to leave the line to sort a few things and come back to him without going back into line. He was kind, professional and efficient. He also answered questions from other coworkers in between. I thought Jeric was the manager just helping out. He deserves a raise if he hasn’t had one recently . Thanks Jeric !

Negative experience: Unfortunately, they could not help us. Although I even turned on the translator, the employee continued to pretend that she did not understand us. It was obvious that it was intentional. I hope she just had a bad day and it won't happen again

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! I recently went into New Urban to renew my drivers license. I was greeted by Mel, friendly staff member. I found she was knowledgable and very efficient. I didn't experience any line-up and got parking right outside the front door. Overall, her professionalism and friendly service contributed to a positive and successful experience for me! I will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: I rarely write reviews- however, my experience at New Urban Registry was phenomenal. Right from lining up to the customer service by the front desk people. I had a lot complex questions (where I was selling my vehicle and also getting a registration for another vehicle out of province). New urban was able to give me accurate information; they were incredibly efficient in getting me my registration; the customer service was the BEST that I have ever received in any registry in Calgary; and the efficiency of getting a long line moving was wonderful. Positive experience: This place is open on the weekends, which is a plus. Usually long lines, but staff are efficient as possible and give accurate information. Inside can be a bit chaotic but the staff try to keep things moving as well as possible, but could be organized better with useful information for clients rather than everything being a black box. Street parking can be hard to find in the area.

Fantastic experience: Had an incredible experience with Mike as my examiner. I failed my test twice at a different registry because the examiner a was so stuck up, but Mike is very calm and makes you feel extremely comfortable! It is a slightly difficult route to do the test in but definitely still go with it because the examiners here are very realistic and kind.

Fantastic experience: Best around - I've used a lot of different places, this one is consistently great - it always has a farily decent line - but always moves WAY faster than you think - other places I wait for 40 min with 5 people ahead of me - here when I've been (about 8 times) there's always about 10-15 people in line - but never waited more than 5-10min as they have lots of staff, and are efficent - such as separate staff for longer test writing etc vs a quick car renewal. My daughter did her learner's test there - great. Registered out of province car - great (including the in transit permit before, then the inspection form). Super fast, polite, knowlegeable. I've even called them a few times for general questions - great. Including just now - I renewed my car online, but was unclear about printed copies. As per previous times - they answer right away (no on hold BS) very polite and patient - answered all my questions. Do yourself a favour and go here. Parking is also surprsingly great (main reason I didn't go here sooner - thought it would be a hassle) - but there's a bunch of free reserved spots in front, side and behind - never an issue.

Negative experience: Very disappointed in the service. Failed to call when a certificate was ready and when I went to pick it up, they had manually scratched out the box where I had ordered a copy, making my 4 week order completely useless. They did nothing to take ownership or fix the situation.

Negative experience: Don't go to this registry for a road test. My wife's experience: The old examiner was extremely rude and talked down to my wife and acted in a way that implied that they were better than her in every situation (just because we're not white?). He failed my wife for ridiculous reasons as if he was looking for an excuse to fail her. First, he asked if we rented the registry's car. Their price is unreasonable for no reason—$269 for such a biased examiner! You can find cheaper and more courteous examiners in NE or NW. The exam lasted 30 minutes instead of the standard 45. During one turn, the left signal was canceled after changing lanes, and the examiner added 20 points with the reason "No Signals." It's impossible that someone would forget to use signals in a 30-minute test! The examiner added another 30 points for changing lanes at a low speed! It's downtown—you don't have enough time to reach 40 km/h between two lights and change lanes. It's too dangerous to change lanes at that speed in downtown. It's obvious he added those 30 points on purpose! Despite my wife's caution, which led to the 30 points above, the examiner added another 10 points for the reason "Too fast for conditions." If you're not white, don't go to this registry for a road test.

Negative experience: The New Urban Registry is not recommended for road tests. Being located in downtown, the traffic volume is significantly higher, which can impact your driving performance. The speed and behavior of other vehicles may influence your own speed, leading to challenges during the test. In my case, the examiner disqualified me for changing lanes at a low speed, even though the street was crowded, and it wasn't possible to change lanes without braking and taking precautions. Unfortunately, the examiner did not consider these circumstances when making the decision.

Positive experience: Lineups are painfully long and slow. This city really needs more registries! Please, customers, come prepared with your paperwork and id etc... The whole system grounded to a halt when I witnessed at least two customers have to go out to their car to get things. You should be thrown back to the end of the line!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this registry to take the road test. Today 08/25 I passed, the examiner (14290) was very kind and patient, he made feedback comments and was attentive at all times. The attention in the office was good and fast, even though there were a lot of people (because it was Sunday, I guess).

Negative experience: Very rude agent, the lady on counter number 2 doesn’t answer you at all, when you ask her a question she answers you with the most rude manner. I hope the registry takes a serious action on her regard. I highly recommend people who go to this registry avoid this agent (counter 2).

Negative experience: The lady in the 2 number disk was the most rude agent at a registry office, when you ask her a question she replies with the most unpleasant manner and tone of voice. I asked her a question about my address changing she sent me to the reception, the reception didn’t have the answer so she give me a number to meet one of these agents again, this number 2 desk send a message to a chat or whatever to the other agent who was helping me properly, after receiving her message she said they don’t change address in this registry. I was shocked by their behavior. I really hope no one would encounter with this number 2 desk. And I hope the registry owner gives her a training on how to behave with customers.

Negative experience: You may think it’s fluke but don’t go there to take a road test. They should hire a new examiner that old man has no clue what he’s doing. Same reason they always have openings compared to most others.

Negative experience: Don't go there or take an eyewitness. The New Urban Registry has a racist examiner and that's the least. I don't believe in victimism, I've lived in several places and seen many things, and I don't recommend this place, if you're black or a dark-skinned foreigner, their examiner will fail you in the first one, probably in the second one too. Here's what happened: On Tuesday, August 13th at 11 am, I went there to take my road test, the examiner came to me, asked for my license and to confirm my email, then asked if I went with my car, I said I didn't rent it one there with them, the price is 269 Cad with everything included, he came back with the key. He told me the rules of the exam, he told me that he was going to say to me the direction, that is, left and right without anything else, and he asked me if I had a question, I answered no and the exam began. I was walking between 20 and 30 km/h and was waiting for instructions from him about speed because it wasn't mentioned, so I made the mistake of assuming that he would instruct me regarding speed, but that wasn't the case. The whole exam went smoothly. I realized that we were going back, and I saw that there were still about 20 minutes left before the 45 minutes ended, he turned around and showed me the points I had saying that I was terrible, I failed with 170 because he disqualified me with *Obstructs traffic*, I was surprised, I told him I was waiting for his guidance regarding speed because he didn't mention it before, he said it wasn't his part and that he was there to examine me, I swallowed, after all, he was right, it was up to me to ask and not assume, although 'disingenuous', but that's life. I went home, went back to New Urban Registry, booked a new driving test. Here's what happened on the second exam: Friday, August 16th was scheduled for 10:45 am, but he was still with someone else so we started 10 minutes later than agreed, he came and asked for the letter and confirmation, we went to the car. The exam began, everything was executed perfectly, maneuvers done, everything done, we went to a junction *T intersection*, we were supposed to turn right, there was a sign to give way, I arrived and it slowed down and I saw the sides and no one was coming, it was a deserted area, I went forward, suddenly he told me that you didn't stop at the stop sign, it just slowed down, I was confused and I just said 'Ok', it kept going gave me instructions on where to go and so on, right in the car I saw that I had failed again, he asked me to continue, I continued, I followed the instructions, we came back, I parked the car, perfect execution, then he turned to me and showed the result, I failed with 55 points because he disqualified me with *4. Stop sign violation*. I told him that actually that wasn't a stop sign and that he could just open google maps and see, and that he didn't say anything in the car because he didn't want to get into a fight while driving, also because I saw it, I was driving, and I'm not an amateur, I haven't even started driving now, I've been driving since I was 18, I'm in my 30s now, the stop sign is the same everywhere, he replied that he knows it was stop because he goes there every day, I told him to check he said he won't because he doesn't need it and that I was lying, as I'm new here and I don't know the name of the streets, I asked him the name to search and show him, he didn't I meant, I told him if you are so sure check, he said no, he asked me to get out of the car because he had another test to do. New Urban Registry will make your life difficult if you are black or have darker skin, DON'T GO THERE, if you are going to get in the car with that examiner, a man in his 50s with white hair, he will find a way to disqualify and fail you , on my second day, when I arrived I found a black man who had just left an exam with him, the result is already known, if you go in with him, have a witness there with you, then maybe you will have the chance to get your license without going through 5 exams. Be smart!

Fantastic experience: I took my class 5 test here last week after getting screwed by AMA and everything here was great. Examiner came out 15 minutes early, which was great for me. Examiner made me feel relaxed and not stressed (older guy). Passed on first try - it was busy when I returned back after passing, but it went quickly. Everything was taken care of in under 10 minutes. Great overall experience.

Fantastic experience: I am here to do my fingerprints. The staff are very nice and friendly. Laine is greeting with a smile to everyone in the lobby area. When I was doing my fingerprints, it took a couple of times to get my fingerprint to look good, and the staff(Todun) had much patience and helped me to get it done. Negative experience: Came here to register my US import car. The person helping us had a question about the stamps in the import form so she had asked a colleague(Asian may be not sure) who clearly didn't know but asked us to go back to the border and get a stamp from the CBSA officer on the place where it indicates a stamp of RIV in form 1. It was ridiculous and the sheer confidence and arrogance that she had while asking us to go to the border for something which is not required was ridiculous. How irresponsible to not even bother to find out what is actually needed and directing to do something which takes substantial time effort and money blaming that the CBSA dint do the job right. People who come to the registry are either new to the country/city, and this person misguided us and the person who was helping us. The person helping us understood that it doesn't look right to ask for a border agent to stamp at RIV stamping space, she called the support line and resolved it, completed our registration, all good really applaud her customer service and dedication. (Missed asking her name) Putting a one star to warn people to do your research and not depend on what is told at the registry. Also if you end up with this Asian person and she misguides you, please double check before running to the border or wherever believing that the agent knows the best.

Negative experience: I have been visiting this registry for many years, including before their move to the new location. While I've had both good and bad experiences in the past, this particular experience was exceptionally negative, and I feel compelled to share it. I had a terrible experience at this registry and wanted to share my experience. I arrived with all necessary documents to renew my registration. The woman behind the counter immediately appeared to be having a bad day. The registry was busy and very loud, and she spoke very quietly. There was protective glass between us, which is understandable, but I had to lean down to hear her. This seemed to annoy her, as she gave me looks whenever I did it. My intention was not to invade her space, but I couldn't hear her and she wouldn't raise her voice. When she reviewed my documents, she said she couldn't renew my registration because my husband wasn't a policy owner on the insurance. I showed her that he was listed as a driver, but that wasn't sufficient. I've shared a policy and registration with him for five years, and this has never been an issue. When I asked if this was a new rule, she couldn't tell me. I showed her a letter issued to both of us, but it was out of date by four days. I also requested a manager's assistance, but she declined my request. She told me I would need to return with the updated document. At this point, I was nearly in tears. The loud environment, her demeanor, the tension between us, and the uncertainty of whether this was a new policy or if she was being more strict than her colleagues, left me extremely frustrated. I sat down, gathered the necessary information (it was around 1 PM, so most insurance advisors were on lunch), took a new number, and waited another 45 minutes to see a different representative. When I finally did, I presented the same documents, excluding the newly sent document. The new representative reviewed my information and renewed my registration without any issues. They didn't even mention my husband not being a policy owner. Overall, it was an incredibly frustrating experience.

Negative experience: I won't recommend this registry for new comers for several reasons: 1. My parents decided to go to this registry to get their ID cards. When they recieved it in the mailbox, there was a typo on both first and last name of my father which then he had to go there in person again to make sure they write it correctly this time. 2. My father did a road test there. They got his email to send the results, however they didn't check the typed version with him (they had a typo there again!!!) + the officer didn't check with him as well while it is part of their job to check after/before the road test. Long story short, we had to go in person to write down the correct email address, make sure they have typed it correctly and they asked us to email driverexaminations.gov.ab.ca to get the results again. Few days has passed and no one has sent us the results which is super frustrating. 3. The road test price is more expensive than other places which again is not good for a new comer who is trying to save some money. My parents who are 60+ year old new comers don't deserve this kind of awful and time wasting service. Please be responsible and do a better job for your customers.

Negative experience: Hey, New Urban Registry!? I haven’t really ever had issues here, but just a quick FYI for your kiosk hostess after today. Not everyone works at the registry so not everyone knows exactly what can be done there. Perhaps, instead of a condescending response of ‘oh this is from the city’ and a blank stare when looking at an invoice, something along the lines of ‘sorry, we can’t process this here’ is all that’s required. Rooting for you guys!

Negative experience: DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR YOUR DRIVING EXAM. the examiner is an absolute moron and is looking for a reason to fail you. At $280 per road test (with rental car) that is not a small fee. Going through the reviews many others are having the same issue with the same issue with the same guy. Do yourself a favour, save yourself hundreds of dollars and go somewhere else because he’s looking to disqualify you so you pay to do it again.

Fantastic experience: Fortunately, this registry office has a queuing system, allowing you to sit while waiting rather than standing in line. However, after 5 PM, the system closes, and clients must queue up. The process is generally efficient, with over four employees working most of the time. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful. Negative experience: (14 134) I do not recommend this examiner, he makes you fail on purpose, always in a bad mood, these exams should be recorded, forget to go on a Saturday you will be (failed for sure ), if this guy is tired of dealing with us, that is not our problem , he doesn't even introduce himself, my first time he threw me in the car without inspecting the vehicle this was a Saturday morning, the second time he did it, but I take points off for unnecessary things, I say record your exam next time I will definitely go to another Registry!

Fantastic experience: Young fella that served me was the most knowledgeable, thorough, fastest registry agent I have ever encountered in 38 years of driving. I wish i caught his name for this review. Pro Tips for customers. Have your ID and docs ready. You know they will ask for it so why keep everyone waiting while you decide to start digging through your purse at the counter. Waiting in line with the whole family? Leave them in the car. You don't need three translators standing in line, making it look way busier than it actually is. Debating fees? Negative experience: This registry has a very bad driving examiner, so if possible, go somewhere else to take your test. Since the examiner is simply looking for a reason to disqualify. My husband was faced with a situation where the examiner simply wrote something that didn’t exist in order to disqualify him. (apparently so that we give even more money to the register and to rent their car). despite the fact that my husband made 40 out of 75 possible mistakes. My advice to you, do not waste your time and money in this registry. Each test here (with car rental) costs 270 CAD, this is not a small amount for passing a driving test

Negative experience: Hello, I am taking the driving test at New urban Register for the 3rd time and I was disqualified for an unfair reason. I am complaining about this situation and I will express my complaint where necessary. I will state below the reason why I was disqualified in the 3rd exam. Only my English is not good and I did not understand what the examiner said to turn left, so I went straight when I was in the right lane and was asked to turn from the next turn, I turned from the next turn correctly, moreover, in the exams I took, saying that my English was not good. I state my situation, but in the description it was written unsafe action (didn't get into correct lane to make left turn, had to be stopped from turning and directed to connect lane). I paid 269 CAD, including the car rental fee, to take these exams and I do not want to pay this fee again because I think I was unfairly disqualified. Thank you!

Negative experience: This is the worst registry ever. Recently my brother faced a bad experience from this registry. My brother who’s a newcomer went to take Class 7 exam and after passing the exam a person named Parvee confused him and asked him to pay $93 for 5 year validity for Class 7. My brother asked him several times why $93 when normally it’s only $37 something. Well this guy made my brother confused and asked him to pay $93.. This registry is a scam. Well later when he asked him to process the normal validity, that guy said he can’t do it as he completed the transaction. So basically what I meant to say is that never visit this registry. They are so unprofessional and dishonest. Especially newcomers, please don’t visit this registry.

Negative experience: The worst ever service. Examinator not qualified to accept road test. The whole route he even didn’t check how was driving. My wife got just 20 points (75 is allowed) and he decided to disqualify her. One reason is my wife is white but he is from India old guy. Time to retirement. Then he ask how many times she take road test, she said it’s first, oh then you will be successful on 2nd attempt. Money money and money, that what they need.

Negative experience: No one to greet you when you arrive. 1 computer not working when try to get a number. Seating area full of homeless people. Most staff leave at 11:30 for lunch so long wait times.

Negative experience: They have this new system where they give you a token to be in the queue. I was waiting in the line for my number when the receptionist called a person sitting in front of her. She didn't even bother to check his number. That person actually came after me. How's this fair??? No point that you come early. Horrible customer service.

Negative experience: Do you want your important docs to languish without them letting you know they've arrived? Then when you do contact them, they tell you there is nothing here for you, and to call Services Alberta. Then when you call Services Alberta they tell you that the Registry sent the docs back to them because you never picked them up? Then this is the Registry for you! INB4 you should have stayed on top of it. I had been. As recently as 3 months prior Services Alberta said they had not reached my request yet, they were backlogged and it may be several more months. I followed up directly after the holidays only to be told the above. Now I need a passport and am STILL waiting for my Birth Certificate which has to make it's third trip.

Negative experience: This was my favorite registry until my last experience. Last evening I came in to renew my partner's vehicle registration and had all the docs on me to do it on his behalf, such as a signed authorization letter, confirmation of insurance, bill of sale, and vehicle lease confirmation, accompanied by my ID. The teller asked for an additional requirement for a pink slip, despite the existing insurance paperwork already having all the information needed to complete the transaction. I didn’t have it, so I had to leave and returned the following day with all the requested documentation, including a scanned copy of the pink slip on my phone. However, this time, a different staff member, seated next to the one I encountered on my first visit who remembered me, suddenly claimed my authorization letter was inadequate and insisted it needed to be a specific form. So yesterday the authorization letter was accepted but today it suddenly wasn’t? This inconsistency between staff members and their unwillingness to assist was frustrating. Their unhelpful attitude only exacerbated the situation, making it feel like they were more interested in asserting their authority than genuinely helping customers. I went to another registry and I was able to renew the registration without any issues. They accepted my existing authorization letter. I wish I didn’t have to leave this review and hopefully it helps to improve customer service standards further.

Fantastic experience: The clerks here are all professional, efficient and friendly. Went for my passport photo today and one of the staff members lent me a bobby pin for my hair so I would meet the requirements. The person who took my photo was very patient with me and did many retakes until I was satisfied with the photo. Above and beyond.

Shelsea has booked me on very short notice and helped me to get in the same day within less than half an hour. At the notary office, Janet went above and beyond and reviewed my documents to the letter and made sure that everything is complete. I'd never go to any other service provider. Fantastic experience: I recently visited the registry for a Driver's abstract, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quick service. I was in and out within 5 minutes, and the representative was exceptionally nice. There were no long lines, and I appreciated that there were no extra charges. This experience was a really good in contrast to my previous interactions with registries in the northeast, where I faced issues related to time, money, and the behavior of the staff.

Negative experience: They do not answer their phone. My family registry, not located in Calgary, is busy and we always manage to have someone answer the phone. Prioritizing phone calls is just as important as the customers that walk in. People don’t want to make the drive and find out you do not have what they need.

Fantastic experience: I went there to apply for the AHCIP card and exchange my French driver licence on Tuesday. I didn’t have to wait a long time. The clerk was efficient. The cards arrive in less than a week (2 days for the health card). I am really satisfied with this registry.

Negative experience: Went to get my drivers and showed up 30 minutes early as required. Upon arrival store was not opened and even past the time of my appointment they did not arrive. The store opened 5 minutes after the posted time and I went to the till. At the till the desk worker told me my registration paper was expired (my fault I know), but I informed them I have the proper version on my phone. While searching for it (2-3 minutes max), they told me it was too late as the appointment time had passed. I was a half hour early and they opened 5 minutes later then posted. I would not recommend drivers test here.

Fantastic experience: No surprises. The line moved quickly. All the kiosks were manned. Parking was a little challenging. Basically an alley along the back and side with 15 minutes parking. Took us about 15 minutes to register a new (used) car and get a plate. 11-23

Negative experience: I was just there today Nov 17/23 and was no lineup at 11:30 am . My experience was awful . I had been there 2 days previously and had told them i lost my handicapped parking permit. They told me to file police report and fill out the form they gave to me . Said it was $13 . So i am back and i could barely hear the clerk and he seemed confused about what i needed . . He cancelled the old lost permit and charged me $ 9 & handed me a receipt . I said where is my new placard . He then talked to someone else to figure it out . Never explaining, nor talking to me . I just watched. Finally got new placard and he then said it was $13 now . This took 1/2 hour while 3 other people beside have come & gone. Confused i said i just paid $ 9 and said it looked like you made a mistake of cancelling rather than exchanging it ( overheard other man talking to him). Again no communication - clerk walks away then brings back a manager angry “Ashley” . She should not be a manager !!! She starts by talking right away in. Very aggressive manner and loudly like she wanted to make me feel ashamed . She then says she will charge me $9 , without even asking me what my concern was - ideally what a GOOD manger would do - then i try to speak and say I just paid that amount and then goes on to condescend to me . I NO COMMUNICATION skills whatsoever . I even said to her that she so busy trying to talk that she cant even listen. She should not have a position as manger ! As she has no respect for a customer who should be able to speak & that she lacks clarity other than being LOUD !!! The clerk in the end realized no one really communicated clearly with me and he was very nice .

Positive experience: Gave my learners Class 7 test today. The wait time is insane so get there early and expect to spend 60 minutes getting things done. Could be done faster if those working at the counters move quickly between people. When I reached there were only 2 ahead of me but by the time I reached the front the line was out the door already. Once at the counters things move quicker.

Negative experience: This location (at least the employee I got to talk to) doesn’t know the rules when it comes to register your car if its from out of province. First of all he didn’t know that out of province inspection form is valid for 90 days not 14 days and he wouldn’t take the registration of my car because I had on it my online portal. So he sent me back. Wasted the time I took out to get this thing done. Went to a different registry office, piece of cake. They let me email my vehicle registration to their office email and gave me out of province registration form stating its valid for 90 days. Seriously, people at this location needs big time training.

Negative experience: I recently visited the registry to update my health card. Unfortunately, the staff there forgot to make a copy of the back side of my ID card. I received a call the next day, requesting that I email them a copy of my ID card. Without hesitation, I promptly emailed them the required document. However, after patiently waiting for two weeks, I decided to contact AHS customer care to inquire about the status of my updated health card. To my dismay, I discovered that my card had not been processed or updated. Frustrated and disappointed by this turn of events, I returned to the registry seeking an explanation. Shockingly, their response was far from satisfactory. They informed me that since it had been two weeks, I would have to apply for the update again. Not only did they fail to offer an apology for their mistake, but they also wasted my precious time. This experience has been nothing short of a complete letdown. The lack of accountability and professionalism displayed by the registry staff is highly unacceptable. It is disheartening to see such negligence in a service that is essential to the community.

Negative experience: Very rude behaviour, the lady sitting asked me “Please do not tell me what I need to do”. Very disrespectful behaviour with the customers. I talked very politely and with respect, “can you please show me where does it say is the new policy in effect?” She said, “you don’t tell me what I need to do” and started getting on to my nerves. Very disrespectful behaviour. With the accent she seemed like from Latin descent, putting it out there since she won’t give me her name. Been in Canada for plenty of years, never faces such behaviour. But this was too much to take with me home today.

Fantastic experience: My clerk was Ahsan, he was so nice and helpful - I was registering my trade name. He was just very kind and calm in explaining things to me which was appreciated. I was 7th in line waited probably around 12 minutes… which is more than reasonable for a registry.

Negative experience: They issued the wrong kind of driver's licence to me, which costs me extra $28 and 4 more weeks to get the correct one. I have to pay for their mistakes! Very unprofessional. Will not go again or refer to others.
