A Proactive Driving School

Fantastic experience: I recently had George as a driving instructor at this school and I am so happy I looked into this company in advance and requested George to be my instructor. I was extremely impressed with his teaching skills while remaining very calm and friendly yet extremely knowledgeable. Before I started the course I was a very anxious and inexperienced driver, after completing the course my confidence and skills had improved immensely. I just passed my road test today and I can’t thank George and A - Proactive driving school enough for their services. I’ve done in depth research of all driving schools in Calgary and reviews on instructors and companies credibility. A Proactive driving school is absolutely on top in this city, if you or your child need extra help, this company and driving instructor George is your absolute best choice by far!

Fantastic experience: Passed the road test on the first try! By the time of the exam, I had been driving for 1 month and had taken three preparatory lessons with Drashko. An excellent teacher, after a lesson with you become confident that you can pass. Fantastic experience: I had Drashko my instructor! He was absolutely amazing! No matter how much driving experience you have, have comfortable or nervous you are behind the wheel. He makes you feel comfortable right away, he makes sure you feel comfortable before doing anything. His able to make it feel like his a friend while still being professional, helping you every step of the way no matter what it is. He wants to make sure and see all his students so very well and find success! I definitely wouldn’t have gotten my license first time if it wasn’t for him!

Fantastic experience: After failing my first road test attempt, I wasn’t feeling too sure about taking another one without some help navigating the Canadian driving culture. On September 30, I had a 2-hour brush-up lesson with Drashko. He is one of the most supporting, knowledgeable and patient people I’ve ever met. He explained all ins and outs of what I could expect during the test and driving in general, gave lots of valuable tips. I went for a road test today, October 1, and passed without pretty much any problems. Please give Drashko my best and a heartfelt thank you!

Fantastic experience: Drashko is the most kind and friendliest man/ teacher I’ve ever met and the best driving teacher you’ll find out there. Before every class I am in deep excitement to see him and look forward to learn by him. Even with all my flaws, Drashko looked past them and had a bright smile correcting my wrongs. Fantastic experience: I want to share my experience: I had to pass the driving test but I didn't know how to parallel park. I took one lesson for two hours and lo and behold, I can park. I don't know how the trainer does it, but I got in on the first try. He's just a magician . I passed the test without any problems. Thank you very much

Fantastic experience: I can not express this enough, many thanks to my instructor, Pallav. I took two, two hour long brush up sessions with Pallav and he was the best. I took the insurance reduction course with John before taking my road test, starting I had very minimal driving experience and had never driven on snowy roads outside of a parking lot. Fantastic experience: Amazing driving school. I took the novice class with 5 lessons with Dragoslav. He’s an amazing instructor and teaches everything you need on the test perfectly. I aced my driving exam with 0 mistakes so that proves it I dont regret it at all because it is also way cheaper than AMA courses. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Fantastic experience: I had my brush up lesson with John O. John was unbelievably kind, calm and instructive. You can tell by his demeanor and experience that he can tell what kind of driver you are and gives you that affirmation when needed. His instructions were not only clear & precise, but is actual proper driving practice. I am thankful that Proactive had appointed John O. as my instructor and you should get him too. The two most professional and helpful driving instructors you could ever ask for. Took lessons with John to get some experience before my class 5 road test and passed it! The last four I took afterwards, along with plenty of my own driving, to check-in and correct bad habits. Fantastic experience: Great school. I had Nicholas as an instructor. Since I had no car to practice with, I took 10 lessons and was able to pass the road test on my first try. Nicholas was a very thorough instructor who noticed the mistakes I made, and corrected them right away. Also kept a good attitude and navigated to some fun places. Fantastic experience: Needed to brush up my driving skills before a road test. Just called, a nice lady picked up the phone, made an appointment and within 10 min a booking landed in my email. Paid for the invoice easily over an attached link and John Odlum, my instructor, already wrote me a message that night to confirm the lessons the next day. I easily found John at agreed location, he introduced me to everything I needed to know, gave me some initial tips and off we went. John is a great instructor. Calm, patient and always having some helpful comments about your driving. Above that, we had a great chat. Within the next 2 days, I passed the road test, so it was surely worth it! My instructor Sharanjit was helpful and outgoing and taught me not only the skills needed for the road test but also skills necessary for safe day-to-day driving. Fantastic experience: John Odlum was my instructor and thanks to him, driving is no longer a terrifying experience for me. I had been afraid of driving all my life, convinced I would lose control or fail to act in a dire situation, so I put it off for years and years. I had never driven for more than an hour's time and thanks to John's patient and kind instruction, after only 10 hours of lessons I can confidently and safely drive a car. I am still practicing lots on my own but at least I am no longer afraid to get behind the wheel. Even my Mom commented she didn't feel nervous with me driving the car for the first time and I know that was all thanks to the training and instruction I received from John. Fantastic experience: After taking drivers Ed at another school several years ago, I had a terrible instructor and felt discouraged to drive. I searched for another driving school in Calgary and came across A Proactive Driving School, after reading multiple positive reviews I decided to sign up. John was my driving instructor and I had a wonderful experience with him. He helped me gain back my confidence while behind the wheel and was very patient, calm, and positive. Fantastic experience: Before A proactive driving school I was not a confident driver as I didn't know what to do in some situations on the road. The first time I got in the car with George I instantly knew that he was going to make me a great driver. Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of taking driving lessons with John, he was calm, positive and very thorough. Fantastic experience: A proactive driving school is exceptional! The woman who answers the phone and completes the bookings was always so kind and helpful. I never learned her name but she was always a pleasure to speak to. Very professional. My instructor John was in a class of his own. I had taken lessons before with another driving school and did not have a good experience. I left that experience feeling anxious and defeated. From the moment I got into the car for my first lesson John made me feel comfortable and helped build my confidence every lesson. John gives great and easy to remember instructions that made the learning process amazing. John also has a great calm presence which is ideal for individuals working through driving anxiety. I officially passed my test so our time together has come to an end. I will miss my driving time with John because he is a wonderful person and A+ instructor but I am just so grateful that he was my instructor. I will recommend this school to anyone who needs lessons! Fantastic experience: Recently did a beginner's course with George at A Proactive Driving School to prepare for my upcoming driver's test, he was great, very informative. He taught me new skills such as better intersection scanning, skills for perpendicular and parallel parking, and helped to correct previous bad habits. George was a great instructor and I learned a lot through his direct and practical lessons.

Fantastic experience: Great experience! Has 16-hours driving with instructor Isidro.He has helped me to greatly developed my driving skills and passed class 5 GDL road tests. Not only prepared me well for the road test, he also tried to build my confidence as a driver as a whole. Highly suggested you book your driving lessons with this instructor.

Fantastic experience: I am very happy with my experience at A Proactive Driving School. My instructor was George, he was very patient and made sure I always felt comfortable driving. I learnt a lot through these lessons and feel I have gained much more confidence on the road.

Fantastic experience: Excellent instructors. Under guidance from Mihai and George, I passed my driving test on the first attempt. Their vehicles are in great condition and they prepare you to drive like a professional even if you never have had any experience driving on Albertan roads. The reception staff is also very polite and accommodating. Reasonable fees too. I recommend them over AMA.

Fantastic experience: I signed up with ProActive a couple years after a difficult situation made driving seem like an impossible task. I am currently heading into lesson 5/10 with John. Even before I was halfway through my lessons, I’d already recommended this company to others who struggle with driving online, and would do the same with anyone within my personal circle. As an instructor, John has been exceptionally calm and patient, has never made me feel bad for making a mistake, and most importantly, has been kind and understanding of my situation. ProActive Driving School is an excellent service all around and I would absolutely continue to recommend them in the future.

Fantastic experience: I don't really write reviews, so that means I was definitely happy with A proactive. I had very little experience with driving before and was often nervous, but now I feel so much more confident. I had George as my instructor and he did a great job making me feel comfortable behind the wheel. He was patient and calm and anything that I struggled with, we would work on that and perfect it. I took the 10 hour insurance reduction course, it didn't only help me pass my road test, but also made me build skills that I will be using for everyday driving. Will for sure be recommending this driving school to my friends! :)

Fantastic experience: Whilst taking lessons at A Proactive Driving School, I had the driving instructor John Odlum. Mr Odlum was very calm and made my experience really enjoyable. I was able to build up a lot of confidence behind the wheel in some very bad conditions. He was always willing to adapt his schedule to make it easier for me and showed up to every lesson on time. With his help I was able to pass my test first try. He was fantastic! I could not recommend this school enough.

Fantastic experience: I had just finished my driving lessons with Proactive and I have to tell you that my driving experience and confidence went from a 1 to 10 in practically no time. John, my instructor is a very thoughtful and friendly teacher and has a bunch of little tricks that help you stay safe and sound when driving but still getting you places on time.

Fantastic experience: I took the 5 hour course to help before my road test! I passed my first try! I had George as an instructor. He is a great teacher who made me much more confident in my driving skills. George really helped me advance with my driving and gain some great driving habits! I also did the online course and found it very informative as well as easy to navigate.

Fantastic experience: Great school! My husband and I took the insurance reduction course not because our insurance needs to drop ( but it sure would be great if it did!!!!!) but because we both felt, at age 62, we could use a brush up on all driving knowledge and skills. The three days of classroom ( taught over the weekend and Monday) were awesome! I learned and relearned so much that immediately started making me a more competent driver. The same for hubby. Then driving with instructor John was perfect for both hubby and I. John was great! Calm and easy going, with corrections/ coaching given gently if or when needed and great general driving tips given too. Thanks again John. The rest of the staff were great too: knowledgeable, organized. A discount given for both hubby and I booking together. I strongly recommend this school!

Fantastic experience: I found this school a few years back when looking for NW driving schools for my oldest child. In class Instruction was excellent and in car training with John Odlum was exactly what I was looking for. Very professional, explained everything and worked well with my son's schedule as well. He passed both in class and road test on the first attempt. It went so well, I recently enrolled my youngest in the same school but with online instruction. I personally requested John Odlum again for my daughter's in car lessons, John changed his plans to accommodate us and we have nothing but great things to say. Price is excellent, John's car is modern and well maintained, we all highly recommend A Proactive Driving School.

Fantastic experience: George is fantastic!!! Both of my kids took lessons with George and they passed their road tests on the first try. They did such a great job that even the examiner was impressed. George is professional, calm, and friendly. He taught them the proper techniques and skills to become safe, confident drivers. Parallel and hill parking were a breeze with George's strategies. One of my kids is more quiet and reserved, but she was completely at ease after her first lesson. I usually don't write reviews but this one is well-deserved. I would highly recommend this driving school and George!
